RTJ and Character Creation
There is no point sending a fully completed character sheet at this stage as my intention would be that the fine detail of any character is fleshed out in conjunction with the other players to get a good spread of skills and abilities.
Instead I would ask for a basic sketch of the character you would intend to play. I'm not overly prescriptive but something like their name, what their professional speciality is, who they used to work for and why they don't work for them any longer. In addition some idea of their drives and sources of stability to get a feel for who they are.
The characters will all start out in business with each other as a small firm of ex-agents and operatives from a variety of previous backgrounds. You've been in business with each other for about a year (though some characters may have known each other for longer for various reasons) taking jobs - of varying degrees of shadiness - from any contacts you may have left in the shadowy world you used to operate in. You haven't exactly been making your fortunes but business has been steady and you're doing alright.
It's worth noting that the game will likely be heavily Europe focussed. That isn't to say that there won't be the occasional jaunt further afield (the first operation is in Morocco) or that characters can't have US (or Chinese, or Australian etc.) backgrounds just bear in mind if you design a character with an encyclopedic knowledge of Los Angeles' underworld that aspect of them might not see a lot of use.
The theme of this game will fall somewhere between 'Mirrors' and 'Stakes' so the more of a backstory the better as that gives rise to plenty of opportunity for turncoats and conflicting loyalties. Life's just more fun that way.
Once everyone is added in and have a chance to discuss their characters we can move on to proper character sheets and the like.
Important to note that at the commencement of the game no character is aware of the supernatural or the conspiracy more widely. The more paranoid ones may have an idea of some shadowy forces behind the scenes but then the more paranoid ones always think there's something shadowy behind the scenes...
