Marrakesh 1.2 - Bab Doukkala Mosque

Myles and Wanye make their way the slightly longer distance to the Bab Doukkala mosque by taxi - a short ride despite the extremely heavy traffic.

The mosque itself is an old building, probably 16th century, but very much a community mosque rather than a tourist attraction. It's a squat two floor building with a square, solid looking minaret jutting up over the otherwise low-level buildings around it. An ever growing crowd of, primarily, men in traditional dress file into the building or stand outside in deep discussion or amiable argument.

After spending a few moments surveilling the place there are no obvious candidates for the fixer you're after but, without a photograph, you're really just looking for the stereotypes of guns and goons and there's no sign of either.

Marrakesh 1.2 - Bab Doukkala Mosque

Standing on the corner, hidden in the shade of an alley across the street, Miles says “This would be easier with pics of the target, huh? Oh well. Wish me luck. I’ll ping you if I see someone good. Got your camera?“  He watches the people enter the Mosqur for a moment longer then starts moving.

With that, Miles disappears down the alley and down the block, out of sight of the Mosque. He emerges down the block, trying to look like any other attendant. Following the crowd and trying to blend in, he looks around the mosque, keeping his experienced eyes open for anything or anyone suspicious. Any tell-tale sign of spies or illicit deeds, or if he’s lucky, the target himself.

20:19, Today: Miles Coldwater rolled 5 using 1d6+1.  Disguise. One point spent.

I’ll also spend a point of Notice to see if Hassan is there and a point of tradecraft to see if there is anything else good in here; dead drops, places to hide bodies, secret codes written on the walls, etc.

Marrakesh 1.2 - Bab Doukkala Mosque

Wayne winked at Miles and took out an I-Phone and said, ”Always, I never leave home without it.” He went to a place, hopefully a cafe, where he could blend in with the tourists and take pics of those entering and leaving the mosque.

Using Photography. I have 1 in that skill and am willing to spend it if it gets us more information.

Marrakesh 1.2 - Bab Doukkala Mosque

Miles' disguise is more than enough to get him inside, there isn't any security on the door and enough people flowing about to not attract any attention. Through the interior lobby the building opens out into a foyer with the large prayer hall to the left and various other corridors running off in several directions. One, with the flow of most of the foot traffic, clearly leads to the washrooms and the area in which ablutions can take place. Another heads down to what appears to be a cloakroom.

However, it is a third corridor which is of most interest. Running directly opposite to the prayer hall it has several doors leading off it but standing outside one door are two men who could be most accurately described as 'heavies'. They still wear traditional dress but appear uncomfortable in it and in their shuffling they clearly give away, to Miles' practiced eye, that both are wearing shoulder holsters.

Beyond the door, behind which must lie something interesting, there is little to cause particular excitement inside the mosque. There are plenty of side doors behind which things could be hidden but without knowing the place better it's impossible to know which are barely used closets and which may be busy offices.

Outside Wayne notes nothing of particular interest on the street or any other characters of note heading into the mosque. Whatever might be happening is clearly happening inside.

OOC: I haven't deducted points for either photography or tradecraft as there wasn't anything to learn, yet, with either.
