It isn't until Aniyu reaches the other end of the tunnel that he becomes aware of the storm raging outside the tunnel. Nothing seems to be getting in, other than the flash of lightning. No wind, no rain enters the tunnel.

Directly ahead, maybe 50 feet away, is a narrow column of black rock. It looks to be about 30 feet in diameter, kind of angular, and soars 200 feet in the air. Even as Aniyu watches, a bolt of lightning strikes the top of the spire. For a moment, the whole spire seems to glow with moonlight.

Aniyu didn't see any point in going out into the storm and getting soaked, even if he could have prevented some of it. The lightning was also a problem.

While he waited, he pondered that which was before him. Was the lightning part of the protection for the Ring? How long would the tunnel remain in place? Was there even a time limit? Would it collapse while he was in it? If it did, what would happen to him? He knew the spell Passwall would toss anyone inside out one of the exits when it collapsed, but this was some sort of mix of Passwall and, maybe, Dimension Door. It had a far greater range than either of those two spells, though.

He glanced back down the tunnel to see if anyone had dared to join him?

  "Nasty storm huh?" he studies the storm for a moment. "I wonder if this storm ever settles or if this is part of the task to get the Relic. Well as much as I don't want to be electrocuted no real choice, but to go forward." Lucien chooses his path carefully. He sprints from one piece of bad cover to another hoping to not get hit.
