One of the monitors had Reddit open with the same user name logged in.

Curious if there were other heroes, she took a look at the thread.

There were other heroes around the country he was trying to find out. He was also following rumours about some kind of...catgirl?

Odd.  She forwarded his findings to herself.  She considered showing herself just to play with him, but that would be a bit mean... and give him answers he didn't really deserve.  Still, she ought to do something...

She checked for cameras in the room next.

You did find cameras, but they were on a shelf and not hooked up.

Wasteful.  But that didn't matter that much.

...it was probably time.

She leaned over, and whispered in his ear, "Boo!"

The guy let out a massive scream.

"What happens when you go looking for really bad, dangerous trouble?" Hood asked him, politely.

"The hell are you doing in my house?" the man asked.

"Well, you were looking for me, weren't you?" said Hood.  "Among other things.  I don't like your taste in DDOS attacks."

"That's none of your business! Get the hell out of my house!" the man said.

"Really?  But you were looking for me, weren't you?" said Hood.  "I mean, you were offering money to find me..."

"You know damn well that wasn't what I wanted!," the man said, continuing to shout.

"Oh, you wanted the treasure at the end of the trail, but not the dragons along the way?" said Hood.  "Honestly, I mostly go after drug dealers and human traffickers, but you're easily sleazier than even some of them."

The man laughed at that.

"Oh please," he said.

Hood shrugged.

"...One of those, eh?  Fine."

She lifted a hand towards the computers.

"You didn't really need those anyway, did you?"

There was a whirring as the computers began to erase their backups; the drives spun up faster and faster.

The man let out a cry.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"Don't you know?" said Hood.  "You like making trouble for other people for laughs or so that you can get it up or whatever it is.  Actions have consequences."

"I'm calling the cops," the man said, taking out his cellphone.

"As you like," said Hood.  "I'm sure you'll leave out the important parts.  Ta."

And she left.  It wasn't really satisfying at all, but at least she'd hindered someone scuzzy.

When you stepped out of the house, there was a massive explosion!

23:11, Today: Hood rolled 25,18 using d20+10,d20+10 ((15,8)).

She rolled with the blast and came up; her agility and the suit's armor had saved her from harm.  What had blown up?

The house you had just left was now a smoking ruin.

What the heck?  She hadn't found any sign that anything deeper was going on there... but now, it looked like there clearly was.

But her only lead had blown up.  So now what?

She headed home.
