There was a haze of incense smoke in the air, enough to make Zoey sneeze.  It was covering up the pot smoke to a certain degree, meaning that her brother was home and awake and not doing much of anything.

"Ugh," Zoey said. "I guess you're too high to get me some beer then. Great."

Zoey took out the money and set out a hundred for herself before putting the rest in a drawer.

"I'm gonna order a pizza. Do you want anything?"

"Whatever's good," he said.  "Maybe cheddar, bacon and peppers?"

Stoners often ordered random-association pizza; this was clearly going to be one of those days.

"Okay, but you're getting it when it comes," Zoey said as she put in the order.

"Sure," said her brother.  "I got this... hey, were you fighting or something?  You're, like, covered in blood and stuff."

"Yeah, but I'm fine. I'm gonna take a bath. Let me know when it comes," Zoey said as she headed to the bathroom.

The bath was nice, and gave Zoey a chance to think over what had happened to day, and what it meant.  Were there other beast-human hybrids out there?

Zoey sigh as she got out and started to dry off. There were other people taken who didn't get out and the snake was too mutated to tell who she was before, but probably wasn't from the bar.

"Pizza's here!" called her brother.  That had been fast.

"Cool. Money's on the table," Zoey said, quickly throwing on a pair of underwear and a shirt, grabbing her sword and sniffing the air while listening intently.
