"Huh? It was from a rally. You know, the one for Doug Means, the mayoral candidate?" the man said.

Cait tried to remember what she knew about him...

He hasn't appeared in the news much, the election is excepted to be a landslide victory for the incumbent. From what has been on the news, he owns a local chain of convenience stores, married with no kids and is an overweight man in his mid-fifties.

Odd... well, first, she needed to prevent more shootings, so she set out to patrol for more gunfights.

You can hear more and more shots starting to ring out coming from several directions.

Yeah, that was bad.  If it wasn't so urgent, she'd try and figure out how to jam the signal-- but people would die if she took that time.  She went to investigate the shots.

Out on this street you see more people with the pins firing at people on the street and inside of buildings. You can hear the sounds coming from near by streets as well.

...all right, this was getting badly out of hand.  Time for a change of plans-- she'd never get to all the shooters in time.  She took the badge apart, attempting to see if she could work out a way to jam it or shut it off.

With a bit of work, you hear a loud buzzing noise and suddenly the shooting stops

Good.  Next step-- track down the source of the buttons.  And that meant tracking down the candidate-- she set off to do just that.

When you reach where the rally was, everyone seems to have fled with a few staff members in coats clearing up the area.

She didn't hesitate, approaching the nearest.

"The buttons!" she said.  "Where did they come from?"

"Buttons? We didn't have buttons to hand out," the worked said, before turning to another one. "Hey, Bill, you know about any buttons?"

The man picking up trash stopped. and thought.

"Oh yeah, there was this old man who was handing them out. I thought he was with us, but he never showed up for anything else, so maybe he wasn't."

"The buttons are sabotaged," said Hood.  "Can you describe him?"

"Uh, he was like late fifties, early sixties. Bald with a bushy white beard," Bill said.

"...Not enough," said Hood.  "Any distinctive features?  Did he leave anything behind besides buttons?"

"Oh yeah, there was this weird stuff bear that I found where he'd been set up," Bill said. "It's in the lost and found which is up near the stage."

She went off after it without another word.

You find it without any problems. The teddy pair is dressed in a suit and tie and has one of the campaign buttons on it.

Hood studied it carefully, seeing if the button was the same kind and had the same circuitry.

It did have circuitry and it was similar to the ones on the other pins. It appeared to have been some sort of master controls for the others.

She set out to see if she could use this to track where other ones might be.  That seemed like the best solution...
