I liked the suggestion of a midnight blue background.

With our military background I feel that we should choose a bigger bird, how about an eagle?
For field we use: per Chivron Inverted, keeping blue and green perhaps? in front of it we put a silver bird.

An owl would be cool too..

Obviously the crown is inappropriate, but the designer only had a few options for the centeral piece.

In reply to Gray (msg # 7):

I was thinking something like this:

But with more rounded wing tips (almost crescent shaped) in silver on a field of midnight blue. Possibly flying over a mountain peak with some other detail in a border. Fairly simple. If you look at examples from the TV show, the coat of arms for the major houses are more simple, and the house Aryn coat of arms is:

Sigil, not coat of arms.

Like this, but with a bird (like the ones above) instead of the star:

Gold suggested an eagle and I think that's what Gray was going for.

Alternatively, a ram's head could be a neat charge as well. Common to mountainous terrain, representative of strength and stability, and not something off-hand I recall another house using.

The leader could be called the old goat.   Well maybe not to his face.

I'd be okay with that too though I remember someone mentioning to stay the Vale's bird themed sigils loyal.

Re: Motto & Arms

I think birds work better. Although between eagles and rams, we're less likely to have a showdown with the Lannisters than with the New England Patriots.

Re: Motto & Arms

We have three suggestions so far:

* Brown: A silver swift on a midnight blue background, perhaps with a mountain top.
* Gold: A silver eagle/owl on a blue background with a green inverted chevron.
* Gray: A silver eagle/ram's head on a blue background with a gold inverted chevron.

Opinions or additional suggestions?

Re: Motto & Arms

Although I have no vote on this I am just letting y'alls know that colors of banner house are silver and azure. In case some of you want to avoid similarities (personally, I do not mind them).

Re: Motto & Arms

Blue and gold with a bird of some kind, mostly because everyone was talking about birds for the Charge. I wouldn't call mine a singular suggestion as perhaps just a number of suggestions of elements (blue and gold could be a neat color combo, I'm cool with a bird charge, though a ram chatge is also appealing, etc)

So far we only have one suggestion in regards to your words.

Gray: Honor Above All.

Any opinions or other suggestions?

Re: Motto & Arms

As nothing further has happened in regards to the House Arms, I'm calling it and mixing the various options up to involve all three.

A silver eagle on a midnight blue background with an inverted gold chevron.
