As we don't seem to have anything to invest here, perhaps deciding what happened to him is something we want to use this thread for.

Idea that's bit out-there: Previous head was Targ loyalist. He might have been the mad one from our past as well. He planned on killing Jon Arryn but Mr. Glorious uncovered the plot, turned cloak on him and captured him. He was given a choice and choose to take the Black. He might come into play as someone plotting schemes of his own from far away.

 So how old is the new lord supposed to be? Was this just a matter of no one wanted to play an older lord and you would prefer not to NPC him, Dragondog?

You would have to ask the players in question about that. Purple in this case.

I have no opinion on influence at character generation. After the game starts it can be transferred to our weaker house resources, or spent on house fortune rolls.

Now that we "know" why the House was founded and where its lands are located, let's get to the name. The Founder became the Head of House because of glorious actions during the Andal Invasion and was granted lands south of Iron Oaks in the mountains by the river.

What do you think the name of the House should be?

The founder won many victories on a silver steed.

The founder wore a shining silvern helmet with wave like patterns. On a sunny day his helmet would shine the way for our troops and encourage them to fight harder.

Our founder's family name comes from something that he had? I don't know...

I'm still not keen on Silverswift, something about it just doesn't fit for me, but I cannot place what or why specifically. :-/

Here are some of the houses that have Andal origins, which given our founder came with the Andal Invasion, could offer some guidance in what are appropriate sounding names.

House Blackthorne was one from a previous long standing game I was part of, but it also doesn't really fit Andal naming conventions. I'll brainstorm some alternatives all the same though.

Looking at your list I notice that none of the other houses squashed two words together... While it will be odd I'd still okay with it.

I liked Silverswift because of the avian theme for The Vale (Eyrie). I still think we should have a silverswift as our house flag ... silver thread on a field of midnight blue.
