* Lands 13 +6 (Red) +4 (Green) = 23 - A modest stretch of land or medium-sized island, such as House Frey.

We have a few suggestions here. To avoid misunderstandings, can those that have suggestions on  how to invest in Lands please post those in this thread.

I'm good with Orange's suggestion. Mountains are more defensible and makes sense given our house acquired the land during a military campaign. Hamlet is good, nice to have somewhere for the smallfolk to live other than just sporadic farmsteads. Grasslands are good because that means we've got land for crops and I recall talk of us having some kind of alcohol we might export. I think I would prefer the coast to a river, but river does give us more options with the lay of the land according to the last map I looked at. That synergy for a port and marketplace is pretty tempting though. I guess I could go either way.

So... yeah. ^_^

If we want to export alcohol, we either have to hosue rule how that works or use Out of Strife, Prosperity.

  I just figured it would be a flavor thing, and not requiring any specific mechanics.  >_>

There's other thing: considering choice of brews knowledge of distilling hard liquor is not widespread in Westeros. Maybe our maester or someone else is a genius. We shall call him Maester Hennesey. :D

In reply to Gray (msg # 5):

In response to flavor / house rules versus codified rules, I will always be in favor of codified rules. Out of Strife seems to fulfill the need for what everyone wants. Our GM is already juggling 11 players. It isn’t fair to make Dragondog create house rules when Out of Strife already exists and is playtested for balance.

In reply to Orange (msg # 2):

Seconded. I would prefer a river because it is a fresh water source.

Brown, Flavor requires no additional rules.

Until someone wants to do something with it and say, "but we have all this whiskey we are making so I want to go do X with it," then flavor becomes an issue.  :-)

Not saying that will happen, but in nearly 40 years of rp'ing, I have seen it happen often.
