Dr. Chimera - On The Road

You have secreted yourself into the back of one of the trucks.  You can tell, if you shift, you'll have room to move around.  You'll be able to get out via the same hole you can in.

After making sure no devices on the back of the truck to observe the cargo, he will resume his human form. That way he could contact Emily via text and have her cross reference any serial numbers or ID references on the cargo and see what she could come up with.

As you start sending here information, she remarks (in a text), *That is all stuff we have or do use.* *Some of it was used when we went down a dead end or two, but we've been on similar tracks.*  *The quantities...THEY ARE TRYING IN MASS.*

Where they trying to get mass amounts of a cure...maybe to depower him? Or worse...where they trying to reproduce their work to weaponize it again? Ether way, he could not risk such a thing in their hands.

I'm going to have to stop them. Any suggestions? He typed back. Just destroying all the chemicals would set them back...but not stop them. Granted they did not have access to the prototype...but it may just be a matter of time.

A few texts come back in rapid succession.

The chemicals are caustic and some could explode.

I'm sure the drivers and security know little to nothing.

Just a leak could cause an issue...toxic spill on road.

Get me whole list...maybe one could be not so bad.

Wait...refrigerated chem in tanker, right?  Norm temp would harm properties.  Long drive....

Do I want to wait for them to deliver to the lab in question? That way I could cripple their ability to work with these substances for a much longer time...he texted back.

As the trucks start to move...

That is a long drive.  I'm bet they are not stopping.  You make that OK?  How do you get back?

So...disable the lab, sans chemicals.  It could be best shot.  Still dangerous....

What kind of guns did they have?  What do we know about NJ location?

You can try to track my phone, as you know to look for it.

I can move VERY fast when I wish to. Pretty sure a truck's range will not be an issue...but we will see.

They do seem to have advanced mercs, but not sure what they are capable of yet.

(OOC-What did I find out about the NJ lab?)

[OC]
- There was very limited information on the NJ lab.
+ It was listed as a different company on everything you found.
+ They did not have a web presence.
+ They are purchasing these chemicals.
- You do not know who is providing the extra security.  It was not discussed in any way but time tables.  They were expected.
- You have a location of the 'lab' in NJ.  It is away from most communities in the western portion of the state.

You can ask me specifics and I'll answer what you know.

In reply to The Game Master (msg # 9):

He might lose contact with Emily if he arrived at the lab. He might be able to put together a sat phone to get in contact with her, but they might be paranoid enough to try and track any signal they don't recognize.

Here is what I got so far. He texts, and proceeds to tell her everything he learned about the lab. Maybe she might be able to find more, but if not he had to go along and discover what was there. Given how its away from the ordinary citizen communities, he might be able to destroy the place without risking any innocent people.

[OOC]  Just to add a few items that may or may not help....
1. The facility is west of Blairstown, on the outskirts of the Worthington State Forest.  This is not a densely populated area.
2. The ride will be about 12 hours, if they do not stop.  The scheduled arrival time in NJ does indicate one stop for 45 minutes.
3. The cell signal should be good the majority of the trip.  The last mile to the facility is hard to guess.
4. Based on what you know of the chemicals, you know that even the least dangerous will cause issues in a localized area (quantity is the biggest issue).  The chemicals could very well be toxic to you in the larger quantities.
5. You can theorize that support equipment (cooling equipment, management/control offices, depot facilities, etc.) could be disabled and would slow down any development by months.
6. Can I assume anything we discuss is shared with Emily?  If something is not, please let me know.

OOC: Yes, but the location of Emily's computer is hacked into a public network so its location is hidden.

If I destroyed the chemicals and the lab, how much would it hamper the process?

[OOC]
I asked about Emily to see if there was anything you were holding back or we could assume she is working from much the same data as you.  The tidbit about protecting her access is appreciated.

If you wreck the chemicals, you estimate it will set them back by a few weeks to a month(manufacturing time).  If you assume they are starting from original designs of you lab, a few of those pieces were expensive and took time to calibrate/setup (thinking electron microscopes, large centrifuges, incubation beds/tubes, etc.) could set them back six months or more.  A chemical spill could be a few months to half a year, depending on the chemical (they would have money and resources to put on any project).  Any damage done by the chemical would be in addition to that 'clean-up'.

Ooc-i have to wait to get to the lab for that. I can't create a chemical spill without knowing how many staff would be hurt by that.

OOC-yes. I will have Emily info gather if I cant get a good signal, giving her updates as I go. Given that the doctor is far more computer savvy than I am, I assume he can keep taking steps to keep Emily and his HQ safe and undetected?

As you look and document what is in the trailer, you don't find any surprises (all items we've talked about already).  Some of them will evaporate over time and be neutral, some can be neutralized with dirty/clay, but a couple would be big problems with out very high incineration and advanced safety precautions.

[OOC] Deeper knowledge needs a scientist roll vs 5 OV/RV.  Positive RAPs will give you insight into what you may need to do on-site.

[OOC] Based on what you've read, used and general knowledge, you lay down a plan on what to do at the site that will disable the facility to the best of your ability.  There will be a little adjustment when you get there, but your plan is solid.  Please rp anything you wish to for the trip.  Other that one stop for 15 minutes, the trucks drive through.

If there is nothing you need/want to do, I'll open a new thread.
