Mindstrike - The Beginnings of A Team
"I can get you a archival info sheet for each item. The documents we will have created images of and I can share those as well. Please do not say we shared these things with you as they are not normally for the public; only researchers and those we share with get these things. There will be a lot. I'll use a thumb drive."
You're walking in the back halls and the lower rooms MSI. It is huge and labyrinth. You actually don't see anybody else, but hear noises from time to time. You eventually end up in a back room, behind security doors. "We don't have scan cards for all of these doors down here. They have been here so long and the wiring or wireless is an issue with this many floors, but they are working on it. We won't have a log of people that accessed this room. She had unlocked at least three doors to get you here. When on the higher floors (and with the elevator), it was a scan card.
"The cameras and motion detectors are the same. It is just hard and expensive when the building and sub-floors were built well before a network was a thing. Security saw us come in, but we had called them just before you arrived. Some here welcome the help, and will definitely appreciate saving the items, but there are a few others that don't like 'outsiders' here. No matter who or why...but security will follow the lead of the researchers. As long as we follow protocol."
The room you finally end in is full of shelves, cabinets, map drawers, and things hung from the ceiling. Every surface is covered and every nook is full. "Here is the laptop we setup. We ran a cable across the floor and over the shelves and back to the closest spot we could connect to the network. It was in the workroom...about 250 feet or so way." She looks at Phillips and he nods. He has not said much as you walked along.
