Jinniyah - It Has Been Many Years...
It was strange to see so many people running for no apparent reason. She could not see why they would be doing so.
They were not running from anything, and people went in different directions, so they were not going towards something either.
The only commonality was they had vaguely similar types of clothing, in style if not appearance or culture. Perhaps it was a religious devotion?
The bicycles were interesting. She had never ridden one, but was not certain she wanted to. It seemed... unseemly. And inefficient.
The smell of the meat was tantalizing, but she did have to eat. She could, she just did not have to do so.
To avoid trouble, she stayed on paths were people mainly travelled, and crossed when they crossed.
She was a quick study, and easily picked up the meaning of the colors and those crossing norms, even if the words walk and don't walk had not been shown.
The throngs of different cultures did not perturb her. She had seen Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia,
Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene,
visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism), Cretans, and Arabs all together at once, so this was not that dissimilar in effect.
Differing ethnicities she considered of little consequence. They might divide or unify themselves themselves by it,
but to her they were all just humans. She categorized them her own way, unrelated to race or ethnicity.
