Jinniyah - It Has Been Many Years...
While there was no antipathy between her humanity, or even between her and her master- provided they were a fair person of good heart- Zahrah still found it amusing that the one who had control was the one worried now. She was djinn, not ifrit, so unjustified cruelty and terror for its own sake was not something she sought to cause, but she felt that the fear being shown demonstrated a level of respect for her, what she was and what she could accomplish. And as a trickster, part of her enjoyed seeing her mistress intimidated in this manner.
Opposed to that feeling was her innate need to serve. That was her existence, servitude, and it was specifically to this woman now. So another part of her wanted to comfort Stephanie and calm her fears.
The two feelings warred, until the invocation of `god' was made.
Zahrah released her, and took a step back looking at her bottle. If Stephanie had a sharp ear, she might have caught 'Allah' and 'Sulaiman' in her words.
Zahrah looked back at Stephanie, pointed at the woman, then at her bottle, then the stopper. She next pantomimed holding a bottle while pulling off the top, then pointed to herself and then at Stephanie once more, before prostrating herself once more to emphasize her next point. Again, a trained ear might recognize she repeated certain words or phrases several times.
