The evening is calm and mild.  The homeless that are in the park are not numerous and peaceful.  The park itself is designed to fit along the river.  There are paths, a small ball field, and some stylized buildings.  The bamboo garden is making a 'russshhhing' noise in the slight breeze.  181th splits the park into a north and south.  The Santa Fe tracks split it into east and west.  These seem to have been accounted for in the design as you see a slight change depending on your location.

As you watch, you can see the signs of gang or drug activity.  You catch a quick meet-up over there.  There are a few small bags on the ground here.  There is some music that is coming from the lot by the pagoda field house that is loud, with a number of people around it that are rowdy.  It is an urban setting.

You don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Mindstrike sighs as she notices the activity. She looks to see if anything violent needs to be stopped as she listens to the scanner.

She otherwise stays out of sight.

You float lower and approach from the trees.  The group is a little large, a little rowdy and definitely not dispersing.  There are multiple cars, at least one radio on too loud with base kickers, and a lot of testosterone.  There is a older man that is the focus of the 10 or so teens attention.  "You cannot be here.  This is where we exercise.  The music is too loud.  The people are scared."

His plea is met with laughs.  There is a small number of Asian 'grandparents', dressed in sweatsuits and tees, in a group at the other end of the lot near the field house.  They are definitely not coming closer.

It is approximately 6:30.  The field house may be open, but you do not see anybody.

Seeing the potential powder keg before her, Mindstrike floats above and just behind the gentleman that is the focus of the group until she's only about ten feet above him before she asks at volume, "Bonjour. Who thinks they are in charge here?"

You get a start from the group of teens, the older gentleman (who edges away some) and even the group of exercisers across the way.  While the old people are frightened, the teens seem to over come more of their fear faster.  Of the teens, a boy in his late teens steps forward.

Looking up at you, "Da hell you want?  Don't you got some fire or something to be the hero at?  You don't scare me floating up there."

Mindstrike floats down and lands in front of the apparently leader and looks him in the eyes, "Is this better?"

She then says, "This is a public park, you don't own it. Please leave these people be and let them exercise."

As you challenge him, it demeanor does change.  He visibly swallows hard when you are in his face.  The older gentleman pulls back even further, but he still has not fled.  A few of the group have retreated to the safety of the doors of the center.

He holds up his hands, "We'll go.  No need for violence. Let's go...let them have their space."  He looks you up and down, before he starts to move for the car.  There is a little grumbling, but they all start to leave.

The look on the old man's face is a little shocked.

Once the kids are gone, Mindstrike turns to the older gentleman and smiles, "Tai chi I would guess?"

She then says, "I think I will stay until you are done unless some emergency comes up. Even then, I will come back to check up."

The older gentleman bows to you, "Yes, thank you."  He waves to those at the building and they hustle over to the green at the back of the baseball field.  Most keep a wide berth around you.

You hear clapping.  When you turn, there is a man in a yellow and black uniform, much like Bruce Lee.  His face is covered by a scarf.  As he he walks toward you, you note the 'hand print' on is left breast. "Nice job.  I bet they would pushed back against me more."  As he is noted, there is a few of the older crowd that notice.

They do Tai Chi in many of the parks in Chinatown and around Chicago.  You can go join for free.  If you're lucky, there are 'impromptu' performing arts festivals you can see (dancers, fire eaters, drum circles, etc.).  Not all over and very random....

Mindstrike smiles, "He would have had a shock had he hit me, and while I doubt I fight like you, the gang would not have liked the results."

Then she asks, "Are you Ghost Hand incognito?"
