Boston Science Association (Public)

This is a loose collection of scientist working on various highly technical projects; bio-tech, artificial intelligence and aeronautics/space exploration.  The organization makes money through leasing of facilities, grants, project management and patents.  The organization, first created by Dr. Alex Barker, started as research facility akin to Fermi or Argonne National Laboratories.  But, it has developed into a self-sustaining amalgamate of differing teams.  Science for the sake of science is the silent creed of many who work there.  This has led them down the wrong path on a few occasions, but more good than bad has come from the organization.  They have offices in Boston, Chicago and Washington DC.  The main research facility is just outside of Boston.

They have recently expanded in the area of “Meta Human Confinement” through a grant from the federal government.  They are following closely what is being done in Japan and are laying the ground work for future workings here.

#2 - MSI

Meta Specialist Inc. (Private)

Meta Specialist Inc. is a company dedicated to finding those with 'special abilities' jobs.  Whether it is a mercenary, guard, special intelligence or 'wet work' you need, they will find you your Meta.  They work strictly by the job and have a large database of metas and clients.  Although not metas themselves, the owners Mark Willis and Marcy Willis, work very hard and have kept their hands very clean.  They consider themselves 'Account Temps for the Meta World”.

#3 - Chaney Corp.

Chaney Corporation (Private)

Once a political action community, Chaney Corp. moved from just getting extreme right wing politicians and justices in power to funding multiple causes; weapons, medical technology, and logistics. You name it, they have diversified into it.

The board of Chaney Corp. is a very secretive and exclusive, often changing depending on time, and whether or not failure is an option. While not obviously criminal, they often find a way to bend the law to near breaking in order to do truly awful things for enormous sums of money.

Despite always speaking out for right wing 'principles', everything they do is based on the pursuit of money and power. As a result, many in government, major corporations, and security community owe everything to Chaney Corps. funding. Almost every crime imaginable has been committed by someone taking their money, but with none of the blame falling on them. Mostly due to their team of lawyers without any ethics.

#5 - Chō No Hane No Tate Organization (roughly translated 'shield of butterfly wings')

This organization is hundreds of years old; it started in the Iga Province of Japan as a training academy.  Both for royalty and those who protected them, it grew and morphed through the years from just a school to a small intelligence agency focused on the protection of Japan and its elites.  Currently run by Akio Kimuro, it has branches and agents all over East Asia.

Note:  The existence of the organization is not known to the general public.  Taking a connection to the organization is allowed for all characters.

#6 - US Agencies

All of the following agencies currently operate in the US (or around the world, depending on charter): CIA, FBI, NSA, The Secret Service, and US-CDA (The United States Civil Defense Administration).

#6 - Agency for the Tracking and Categorization of Powered Entities (ATCPE)

This US agency (started in 1985) has the task of identifying, detailing, tracking and containment of 'powered entities'.  Historically, this agency has been much ignored and underfunded by politicians, but recent changes have added containment (defacto apprehension) to the agency's duties.  This has brought renewed powers to the agency, which is under DHS.  The changes to the agency are relatively new and the many of the changes are still in progress.

#7 - S.T.A.R Labs

The Science and Technology Advanced Research Laboratories, usually shortened to S.T.A.R. Labs, was a research organization founded by a scientist named Garrison Slate, who wanted a nationwide chain of research laboratories unconnected to the government or any business interests.[1] He succeeded not only on a national scale, but an international one as well: S.T.A.R. Labs maintained facilities in Canada, Europe, Australia and Japan as well as in the United States, with the total number of facilities numbering between twenty and thirty at last recorded count.

#8 - Angel Works Technologies Inc.

Specializing in health and medicine, this company works around the world on medical technologies and research.  Being a part of many CDC and WHO efforts, the company has a high profile globally and is highly thought of in the medical and political circles.  Chicago is the headquarters for the company.
