Ground Rules

First a few ground rules to make sure unacceptable behavior is clearly described in advance.

1. Don't be a jerk. This is a lighthearted game that's intended to be fun for everyone. The old golden rule is a good general principle. As is "don't say something if you can't say something nice". As is "When in doubt, just don't say it."

That's a little vague, so some specifics:

2. Racism, sexism, genderism, etcism won't be tolerated

3. No politics This is one of my escapes... please don't drag the real world into it.

4. Don't correct others If a correction needs to be made, I'll PM the person(s) involved. Everyone hates to be negated, even by the GM. Unless it's something incredibly egregious that would more or less kill the game, I will most likely leave whatever it is as is and ask for something different next time.

5. If you mess up, apologize We all make mistakes. No need to sacrifice yourself on the altar of dignity, but do own up to it and make it right.

6. Have fun. Don't take anything too seriously. This is an escape.

House Rules

I used to have about 20 of these. I can only remember three. I'm only going to insist on one, and the others I'll "strongly suggest".

1. Counterattack requires activation of an Opportunity AND you need to declare your intent to counter before your reaction roll. The SFX is changed to allow you to roll your reaction first, then spend the PP; but you still need the Opportunity.

Optional:
O1. If you don't have two powersets, you get Versatile for free on your single powerset.

O2. If you add a d4 Distinction to a pool to get a PP, I highly frown on the practice of then spending a PP to add a third die to your total on that roll. It's just too meta-/power-gamey for my tastes. The way I see it is the d4 is in there because you're doing something out of your element and it's dragging you down. While it's not *technically* how it works, almost always effectively, you're then spending the PP you get from that to make your total better. In other words, your weakness wasn't really a weakness at all because it allowed you to build up a better total. I'm not going to enforce this - I've actually had a game die because I did - but I'm also not going to like it if I see it.
