Issue 0: Hunted!

It's a nice day in southern California. The smog is minimal today, humidity is low, and the temperature is pleasantly in the high 70s. Despite being a weekday, the weather is too nice, and many people have called in "sick" so they can spend the day at the beach. With no current clients or prospects, Squirrel Girl, Speedball, Moondragon, and Armadillo find themselves irresistibly lured to the beach as well.

They are each enjoying [their collective or individual beach activity] when their early afternoon tranquility is disturbed first by a wave of murmurs spreading through the crowd, then pointing back towards the parking lot. The attention crescendos into screams and running away from the parking lot as a sparking, sputtering, smoke-trailing, Kirby-esque hover-vehicle makes a crash-landing in the sand about halfway to waterline. A guy who looks like an extra on a Conan movie set and is that a cow-lady(?!) tumble off the crashed vehicle in a spray of sand.

A moment later and before any of our heroes has a chance to react, even more screaming and running from the parking lot occurs and an 18-wheeler decorated with tiger-stripes comes crashing through the barriers, barrels over the sidewalk, flattens the trash/recycling bins, explodes the ice-cream stand (the vendor diving to the side at the last second) and slams into the beach. The soft sand goes spraying up in a giant wave as the 18-wheeler digs itself in and comes to a stop.

A guy who's made unfortunate facial hair choices, wearing some kind of a fur vest, and leopard print yoga pants jumps out of the cab of the truck.
https://comicvine1.cbsistatic....iccarelli_kraven.jpg

He points and bellows at the other two who crashed into the beach.
"Step away, savage! Kraven the Hunter will have that cow-woman for his menagerie!"

Doom Pool: 2d6

Scene distinctions:
Beautiful day at the beach
Panicked bystanders
Wrecked vehicles

I'll let whoever gets here first react first.

Issue 0: Hunted!

The beach is a great place to have a good time, and Doreen Green, in a dark green bikini that pairs nicely with her brown tail and squirrel-ear headband, is gently bouncing a volley ball between the tops of her wrists as she approaches her friends. Tippy-Toe dressed in a ribbon that matches Doreen's bikini, scurries from shoulder to shoulder to keep up with the bouncing ball.

"Hey gang! Who's ready for the beachiest ball of them all? Girls versus guys! It'll be fun!" The initial screams got her attention, and she turned to look in the proper direction while still bouncing the volleyball absent-mindedly. The crashing spacey hover shippy bike car thing gets a wide-eyed stare of shock from her, but she doesn't have enough time to go see if they need help before a massive truck comes launching onto the beach! Doreen turns to see what the second commotion is just in time to get hit by the wave of sand which sends the volleyball flying toward the water, and leaves Doreen covered in a layer of grit. Fortunately, Tippy-Toe was quick enough to hide on the back of her neck, and so escaped a similar fate.

Squirrel Girl at least wipes some of the sand from her frowning face before taking a few steps toward the troublemaker: "...That's beach bully behavior, buddy!" Her ever-present companion did a dramatic point for emphasis. On hearing the stress in her voice, small heads poked out from the branches of trees up beyond the sand, near where the street began, a group of friends small in stature but many in number.

[I think for right now, I'm simply justifying the presence of my Tippy-Toe and Friends! power set, rather than making any assets or complications.

And I'll pass it along to Conan!]

Issue 0: Hunted!

It was a beautiful day. Armadillo looked out at the ocean.

He thought back*...

FLASHBACK!
= *...To no more than twenty minutes ago! -Smilin' Smoot:
He'd come down to do some beach clean-up (everyone agreed, volunteering more would help him) and showed up with a plastic junk-bag perched off his wrist like an old lady's purse. Then he ran into, well, someone new, and that squirrel girl Squirrel Girl, and... Speedball.

('Dillo remembered meeting that kid before- really quick, one time, before blacking out.) Antonio let out a slow breath and remembered to let that stuff go.

He'd met a lot of guys, and super stuff ended up in violence a lot, and if A. decided to go after everyone who ever hurt him, he'd be dead. That was, he decided, for Special Occasions- guys he really had a beef with.)

He was about to get back to his thing, but... there's was something about that girl with the squirrels- she had this chipper force of personality about her, like a maltido den-mother or something, and when she waved him over, he found himself hanging out with them, despite himself.

...and if you could see under his mask, you'd see him smile placidly. (Not a new costume choice- his girlfriend Daisy had found him a set of disposable surgical masks with really long straps.)

This was fun. Maybe he'd find someplace with good waves and try a Roadkill Slammer into the surf for the hell of it...and that girl-squirrel girl was talking about volleyball (Tony was totally ready to own that game, being WAY taller than everyone else there.)

Then, the spaceship crashed- and some guy climbed out with... a cow lady? This was... a weird day. 'Dillo always wanted to do cosmic stuff, but this wasn't how he ever saw it going.

 A. rolled to his feet, off the sand, and started to see what he could do. Seeing a 7'6" monster guy screaming at you to calm down, he decided, probably wasn't actually gonna calm people down that mu-

Then, the big-rig screeched in. And Kraven the Hunter piled out. And Armadillo knew what he could do.

"KRAVEN!" (CHARGE! CLAWS OUT! BAG PROBABLY STILL ATTACHED!) This was a Special Occasion, after all."TRASH, OFF THE &$*#ing BEACH!"

[OOC: I'm newer to this system, if I think I got a distinction or milestone in there, do I literally call it? I think I got Monstrous Appearance or Trying to Make It Right in there, SG's Chipper Personality thing, and the milestone "When you declare somebody your old ally or foe", if I've got it right. This wasn't quite 'drastic action' enough, and he's got too much of a plan for it to really be Hair-Trigger Temper, I think? ]

Issue 0: Hunted!

Robbie lounges on the beach in a pair of loose-fitting, over-long swimming trunks. His pale skin stands out in the tanned California crowd. Over-sized oval sunglasses cover most of his face.

His mouth opens to answer Doreen but he flinches as the hover-vehicle crashes. He opens his mouth a second time but doesn’t get anything out before flinching again as the tiger-striped semi crashes through the barriers and onto the beach.

Looking at Kraven’s leopard-print yoga pants and mustache, Robbie says, “Dude. Is anyone else hearing ’70s porn guitar, or is it just me?”

After a moment of silence, he says, “Yep, just me.”

Robbie takes a half-step forward and face-plants into the sand. In a flash of light and shower of colorful bubbles, he transforms into Speedball, the Masked Marvel, and is unceremoniously launched into the sky. Speedy’s arms and legs flail as he flies in a lazy arc towards Kraven.

“Hey, Tiger King, I don’t think the lady wants to be in a cage.”

Speedball slams into Kraven.

OOC: First roll! Team d10, Boundless Energy d8, SFX: Kinetic Crash: Leaping 2d8, Combat Expert d8. 20:25, Today: Speedball rolled 23,3 using 4d8,1d10 ((8,3,8,4,3)). Total: 16. Effect: 1d10. +1d8 to the Doom Pool.

Issue 0: Hunted!

Earlier...

Moondragon watched the beach crowd as the teeming throngs blasted their playlists, threw frisbees, splashed in the water, and cavorted on the sands. A slender eyebrow arched as the former Avenger observed the beach-goers. “Hmm. So this is the ‘summer fun’ so celebrated by Earth mortals.” She wrinkled her nose in distaste at the perpetual shouts and screams of delight. “I suppose limited minds find their amusement in sunburns and indulging alcohol. However, I must say that these brackish waters fail in comparison with the glistening pools of Titan.”

The telepath shielded her thoughts from the cacophony. She’d worn a special sunscreen of her own devising that protected her skin without the greasiness of standard products found in the store. As a woman who shaved her head and routinely wore revealing outfits, Moondragon needed superior protection for her skin. “I never understood the Terran fetish for burning their skin for a commercially prescribed notion of ‘Beauty’,” she said to peers who weren’t paying attention to her criticism.

Moondragon levitated a few inches above an immaculate towel, wearing her original green costume of scantily arranged strips and plunging neckline. It was suitable for a day at the beach. Her disapproving leer was covered by large sunglasses that Doreen bought for the occasion. Although she would never admit it, Heather actually liked the sunglasses. When Doreen challenged them to volleyball, Heather cocked her head in interest. “Volleyball requires agility, speed, and team coordination. I might be interested in trying your game...”

Before Moondragon could discover the thrills of Beach Volleyball, though, Kraven The Hunter interrupted their reveling...

Now

The sand spattering her co-workers stoped short of Moondragon, hovering in mid-air before falling in clumps on the shore. Moondragon stood at her full six feet of height, glaring at Kraven. “How dare you disrupt our leisure time with your self-serving buffoonery!” A surface reading of his mind told Moondragon about the man.

“Ah, yes. ‘Kraven The Hunter’. You consider yourself the greatest sportsman of your ilk. You routinely harass Spider-Man, and he humiliates you just as often.” Moondragon sneered at Kraven as she floated a few feet into the air. “Well, you don’t face a costumed street-fighter now. No, you face one who defied Thanos himself and defeated The Dragon of The Moon! I say that, though Bova may have begun her life as a humble beast of burden, she has since ascended to autonomy and sentience! She who was the most favored of The High Evolutionary and raised three Terran heroes of renown deserves better than languishing in a cage for a preening, muscle-bound oaf like you!

Feel the Mind Burst sear your thoughts!”

OOC:

Let’s give this a go! I’m attempting a Psychic Blast on Kraven. 1d10 for Solo (because Moony grandstands), 1d10 for Psychic Blast, and 1d8 for Haughty Attitude. Did I do this correctly?

02:38, Today: Moondragon rolled 15 using 2d10+8 with rolls of 4,3.  Psychic Blast on Kraven .

Also, +1XP for citing a past victory. ;-)

Issue 0: Hunted!

Kraven's gaze turns to Squirrel Girl and focuses on her tail. "Ah! Squirrel Girl! We meet again!" he gloats.

Then as Armadillo steps up to him, he looks that way. "And Armadillo. So many animal-themed heroes! It is truly Kraven's lucky day."

These distractions set him up for Robbie's kinetically enhanced tackle. He is wholly unprepared as Speedball slams into him, bouncing him into the side of the semi's trailer with a loud BONG! and sending him to his knees.

Going to go small here... Solo d10, Where's my prey? d4+1die to doom pool, Enhanced Senses d8, Combat d8

08:57, Today: Watcher rolled 1,8,3 using d10,2d8,d4 with rolls of 1,2,6,3.  Kraven Reaction to Speedball.

That's 9 with a d8 effect and 1 opportunity

Speedball's 16 vs. Kraven's 9 steps up his effect to a d12!

Doom Pool: 3d6, 1d8

This sets off a cacophony of banging and whooping and hollering from the inside of the trailer. Bowling ball sized convex dents start to appear at random places around the trailer's metal walls, setting off additional bongs and pings.

"What treachery is this!?" Kraven screams at Speedball's successful attack as he peels himself up off the sand, using the semi for support. "No matter." he waves it off with a wicked smile that accentuates his bad moustache. "Did you know that chimpanzees' DNA is almost identical to humans? Observe what happens when I dose them with my Jungle Juice!"

With that, he presses a button on his belt and the sides of the trailer drop open. This reveals a troop of at least a dozen adult chimpanzees. These chimps seem a big roided-out. Their muscles bulge like a Mr. Olympia contestant, even through their thick fur, and their eyes are bulging and bloodshot. Their whooping and screaming gets louder as they jump from the trailer, spread out, and start causing mayhem.

I'm kind of interrupting the turn order here and introducing a new threat, both of which technically cost Doom dice. I'll drop the d8 that Speedball added and say Kraven grandstanded, then immediately use that die he would have added to doom pool to set off the JUICED UP CHIMP BOMB.

Doom: 3d6
Kraven: d12 PS, 1opp

Moondragon sweeps in and mentally blasts Kraven while he's still staggering from Speedball's assault. She's a bit too slow to prevent him from launching his JUICED UP MONKEY BOMB though. Kraven has little defense against such an attack, other than his overinflated ego. He manages to remain conscious, but just barely. Both mentally and physically staggering, he's looking like a boxer in the 12th round.

Moondragon, you wanted to type in "2d10,d8", not "2d10+8" into the dice roller. No worries - I just rerolled your d8 and threw another d10 in there for you for your psych specialty.

10:41, Today: Watcher, on behalf of Moondragon, rolled 3,8 using d10,d8 with rolls of 3,8.  additional rolls for Moony.

And he had a d12 physical stress, which you could have also dropped in, so I rolled that for you too.

10:43, Today: Watcher, on behalf of Moondragon, rolled 10 using 1d12 with rolls of 10.  another additional die for moondragon.

That gives you 10,4,3,3,8. Total of 18, d10 effect.

Kraven has little defense against mental attacks. Buddy d8, Master Criminal d8, Combat expert d8

10:46, Today: Watcher rolled 13 using 3d8 with rolls of 5,7,1.  kraven's defense to moondragon.
12/d4/1 opportunity
Moondragon's d10 is stepped up to d12.

Now Kraven has d12 Physical and d12 Mental stress. I'd love to see someone drop an emotional attack on him to get all three up to d12... but you probably just want to finish him off.

Kraven's monkeys spread out along the beach, chasing bystanders, smashing cars, and most importantly, taking the fight to the would-be heroes. There are so many of them, they easily mob the group, punching, biting, and grappling everyone.

These guys will use area attack. They're a 5d8 mob with d8 superhuman strength and d8 combat. They'll do an area attack on everyone, so that's an additional 4d6.

10:52, Today: Watcher rolled 17,13 using 7d8,4d6 with rolls of 2,2,1,6,2,1,3,6,1,5,1.  MONKEYS!

Wow. 4 opportunities. There are still 2 more on the board from Kraven.

They get a 12 total
d8 effect each to Speedball, Moondragon, Armadillo, Squirrel Girl, and a d6 to Conan.

Conan is the only one to not do an action yet.

Issue 0: Hunted!

BEFORE:

Conan of Cimmeria had walked many miles, many weeks, before arriving at Mount Wundagore. There he had been told he would find the mystical amulet known in ancient times, Conan's time, as the Heart of Chthon. Instead, he had found animals that walked like men, spoke like men, and fought like men. Here too he had found Bova, who had stood before him calmly as her ilk lay scatter across the room like emptied mugs. She was fearless, this Bova, and her words took Conan aback. She and hers were not pawns of Chthon as the barbarian had assumed. They were creations of some mad science. They were, she said, New Men. And if such a thing as the Heart of Cthon did exist, it was deeply buried or long-since absconded with. Bova did know of Chthon, however. He had recently battled the Avengers, and the Scarlet Witch, who Bova had herself raised here on Wundagore, had taken part. Chthon had encased all of San Francisco in Amber,* and Bova had learned that Wanda was back to do some follow up investigation.

Offering to take Conan with her, Bova and the Barbarian had climbed aboard her Atomic Steed and flown to California on the West Coast of the United States.

NOW:

Conan pulled his head from the sand and the sword from his back. He did not know who this Kraven was, but he did know that he meant to capture Bova, and Bova was necessary to aid in the finding of the Heart, so this Kraven must be stopped!

Before the Cimmerian could attack, however, he was set upon by a hairy beast! Conan recognized it well: some sort of ape. He'd fought many of these in his time, and slain them all.

"NO!" shouts Conan. "None shall impede my progress!"

Solo: d10

Iceman frowns as Kraven's truck smashes through the ice cream stand and knocks the triple-scoop cone right out of his hand. There goes a perfectly good serving of chocolate-strawberry-vanilla.

"Now that's just rude," he sighs.

Looking up, he sees what looks like a swarm of rabid monkeys descending upon his friends as well as the dozens of other beach-goers. He should have realized a nice day at the beach, free of rampaging super-villains and their beastly underlings, was just too much to hope for. He ascends into the air atop of a spire of crystalline ice, drawing the heat out of the surrounding air with his mutant power.

"One order of Chunky Monkey coming right up," he says, "Served cold."

He targets a couple of the nearby chimps with a few ice blasts, trying to freeze them in their tracks before they can hurt any bystanders.

Everything is happening so fast, Doreen hardly has time to finish lecturing Kraven on his poor beach etiquette before the hunter's perilous pets are upon her! Thinking fast, she springs up and away from their grasp, bounding off one's head and backwards, toward the ocean. She has to get her ball back, which she does.

"Lay off with the chimps, chump! You've got a lot to apologize for! Now say you're sorry or else!" At her call, the summoned small army of small squirrels scampers to surround Kraven, eyeing him intently.

"Or else you're gonna be tickled silly in front of all these people! And the news crew!" Still keeping clear of the apes, Squirrel Girl pointed to the wrecks, which would certainly be drawing police and news attention any second now.

Speedball bounces off Kraven...

"Jungle juice? You're talking about jungle juice with those pants?"

...slams into the side of a nearby car...

"I'm getting some serious creep vibes off this guy, team."

...and rebounds right into the waiting paws of the Juiced-Up Chimps.

"Get your paws off me you damned dirty ape!"

The meaty swat of the chimp sends Speedball high into the air like a pop fly ball, arms and legs flailing.

At the zenith of his arc, Speedball notices the Juiced-Up Chimps harassing the civilians on the beach. With more effort than he remembers it taking, Speedy launches his new collection of colorful bubbles at the Chimps far below.

Issue 0: Hunted!

Armadillo just got over to where Kraven was.

Guy's down. He thought. He also thought- for an instant- about the time Kraven had him and a bunch of other guys with animal stuff abducted so Kraven could run a paying-customers canned hunt on them. Some guys- guys A. knew- didn't make it out. And then he thought my claws would feel really good pushing out the other side of this guy's head...

He reared an arm back ...and then, the monkeys. (You would be surprised how often "And then, the monkeys" comes up, in these circles.)

Not bothering to swap words with Kraven, for now- the guy looked like he was almost down, for now anyway- Armadillo watched as the results of the JUICED-UP CHIMP BOMB bore down on the PANICKED BYSTANDERS.

Thinking as quickly as he could, A. stepped clear, and tried to use his MONSTROUS APPEARANCE to his advantage.

These chimps look like they're roid-raging or something, he figured. So if I do THIS, it should draw them to me, and get everyone else out of the way.

And he threw his arms out and roared, at the top of his lungs. All 7'6" of him. Armadillos didn't shout, of course, so it was just all him, ("GRAAAAAAA!" you might say.) hoping against hope that the combination of "scary enough to make people run" and "looks like a Dominance Display to a particularly raging chimp" would drive off bystanders and draw in the primates, so he could then tank them.

[OOC: Little help? Not sure if everything I invoked helps me, or what to roll for it. If I can have him spend 1 PP to just ignore physical damage for the round, I'll do that.

Edit:

"They get a 12 total. d8 effect each to Armadillo..."

Reaction roll. Team d10, Superhuman Durability d10, Combat Expert d8.
17:35, Today: Armadillo rolled 15,5 using 2d10,1d8 with rolls of 7,8,5.  Reaction roll.

Action roll: Team (d10), Monstrous Appearance (d8), Superhuman Strength (d10), Combat Expert (d8)

17:37, Today: Armadillo rolled 11,8 using 2d10,2d8 with rolls of 9,2,2,6.  Action Roll.

(No claws on this one, just a combination of taking what they throw at him, and tossing them around a bit- not too far though. Light chokeslams, that sort of thing.)

“*Sigh* I see that you insist on living down to your name,” Moondragon said with no shortage of disdain when she saw Kraven unleash a squad of crazed chimpanzees on the bystanders at the beach. “‘Craven’, indeed, but I expect no less from Earth’s lesser villains.”

The Shao-Lom disciplines enabled Moondragon to persevere through the bites and bruising dealt by the simians. She watched her former fellow Defender, Iceman, join the fray. “Adequate.” The large scaled brute, Armadillo, clearly wanted to bisect Kraven with his fearsome claws. I cannot allow Armadillo to sabotage the progress he has made by losing his job. As ever, I must take matters in hand.

Marshaling her considerable telepathic power, Moondragon attempted to exert her will over Kraven and his furry minions. “You rightly note the similarity between human and simian, Kraven. You clearly share the lust for savagery with our primitive ancestors. However, Moondragon says ENOUGH!”

Sleep.

Squirrel girl nimbly evades several of the chimps, recovers her beach ball, and manages to summon a horde of squirrels. The latter promptly surround Kraven and stare him down.

"SQUIRRELS!?" Kraven bellows. "You threaten the greatest hunter in history with bottom-dweller prey animals?!"

Team d6, Big game hunter d8, Combat d8... not much of a pool. Even giving him a die from the doom pool isn't really going to give him a chance here. MAYBE if I roll really well...

16:30, Today: Watcher rolled 11,4 using 2d8,d6 with rolls of 7,4,4.  kraven reaction to SG.

Nope. That'll step up SG's stress to him and take him out.

This is just too much for Kraven to handle. He collapses in a blubbering mess of shame and embarrassment.

Meanwhile, the juiced up chimps are still causing trouble. Speedball bounces here and there off several chimps like a cue ball on a billiards table. Building up a kinetic charge, he releases some of it at few chimps right before they manage to grab a civilian. This slams them into the side of a lifeguard tower and they fall to the sand unconscious.

Chimp lose one of their team dice.

Issue 0: Hunted!

Ooops, just saw Iceman's move. Should have resolved that before SG and SB, but it doesn't really matter...

Chimps reacting to:
Total: 10
Effect: d8
Opportunities: 0

Team 5d8, BERSERK! d8, Superhuman durability d8, Combat d8

16:39, Today: Watcher rolled 30 using 8d8 with rolls of 8,1,6,4,1,1,2,7.  chimps vs iceman blasts.

Iceman blasts a few chimps, encasing their feet in giant blocks of ice and rooting them to the ground. However, there are just too many of the creatures and taking a few out doesn't seem to slow the rest down or diminish the amount of mayhem they're causing.

Issue 0: Hunted!

Armadillo, for all his lack of confidence in himself, accurately surmises that Kraven is out of the fight and the monkeys are a much bigger threat. He screams at the top of his lungs, hoping to channel the Hulk (who he probably had fought before).

Unfortunately, Armadillo's lack of confidence comes through in his attempted display. A few chimps turn and look his way, only to ignore him and jump on a couple of cars, denting their roofs, breaking their windows and setting off car alarms.

17:37, Today: Armadillo rolled 11,8 using 2d10,2d8 with rolls of 9,2,2,6.  Action Roll.
So that's an 15 total with a d10 effect.

Chimps will use the same pool as they did against icey, but speedball has taken a few out first, so they're down to a 7d8.

16:49, Today: Watcher rolled 35 using 7d8 with rolls of 8,6,6,3,8,1,3.  chimps react to armadillo.

They'll get a 16 total, so Armadillo doesn't phase them.

Issue 0: Hunted!

...And then Moondragon moves in like an angry mother screaming at her misbehaving kids and blasts the entire beach with a telepathic blast. Kraven was already down, as were a few of the chimps thanks to Speedball. Even though they were simpler minded (just barely as far as Moondragon was concerned) than a human, there were just too many of them for her telepathic command to do much. A few dropped to the ground in sweet slumber, but the rest seemed to just get even more energetic.

17:30, Today: Moondragon rolled 14,6,50 using 3d10,1d8,12d6 with rolls of 3,6,5,6, 6,2,4.  Mind Control: Put Kraven & Chimps to sleep.

Only 4 dice of chimps are left, so that's only 3d6 added, thus the shorter dice pool there.

Giving you the best pool that uses 2 dice for a total, that's a 12, and you'd keep 3d10, and a d6 for effect dice. Each of the d10's would completely eliminate a chimp die if they hit and the d6 would reduce a chimp die to a d6...

I'll go with 4d8 for the chimps' team dice and do their Monkeys distinction as a d4+adding a die to doom pool, saying they're simpler minded than a person but also taking the opportunity for them to wreak more havoc.

17:01, Today: Watcher rolled 24,2 using 4d8,d4 with rolls of 7,5,5,7,2.  chimps reaction to moondragon.

That's a 14 total, so they're unphased by Moondragon's attack.

Phew! So lots of stuff just happened and resolved!

Here's the current state of things:

Doom pool: 4d6
Chimps: 4d8 left out of 5d8
Kraven: Down (Emo stressed out)

Heroes:
I don't think anyone has any stress or complications yet, but...

I need a reaction roll from @Moondragon
and a new roll from @Conan to be either his reaction or action.

It'll be the Chimps' turn next after I get those. Then we'll go back to all the heroes.

Issue 0: Hunted!

The chimps continue their chaotic frenzy of destruction across the beach and the parking lot. They smash cars, tip over garbage containers, and bite people. One of them gets into the churro stand and starts throwing batter at people. Down on the beach, a boy starts crying as one of the monkeys destroys his sandcastle and shrieks in his face.

The ones around the heroes continue to attack: jumping, grappling, hitting, and biting.

Meanwhile, Kraven is curled up in a ball muttering, "Squirrels, Chimps, Armadillos, Dragons, Cows, SQUIRRELS!"

With Conan on hiatus, we'll move along...
Team 4d8, Berserk d4+1d6 in doom pool, Superhuman Strength d8, Combat d8, Area attack: Armadillo, Iceman, Moondragon, Speedball, Squirrel Girl = 4d6

10:18, Today: Watcher rolled 29,11,2 using 6d8,4d6,d4 with rolls of 8,8,6,1,2,4,2,3,4,2,2.  monkey attack.

Need reactions to:

Total 16
d8 to Armadillo, Iceman, Moondragon
d6 to Speedball, Squirrel Girl
1 opportunity

Doom pool: 3d6,1d8
4+ opportunities available

Chimps: 4d8 left out of 5d8
Kraven: Down (Emo stressed out)

Issue 0: Hunted!

As the chimps surround him, Iceman turns the ground underneath him into a sheet of ice. Pillars of frozen crystal rise out from the edges, forming a defensive barricade to keep out the offensive primates.

Team d8
Heroic Prankster d8
Ice Mastery 2d10

SFX: Omega-Level Mutant. Step up or double any Cryokinesis power for one action. If
that action fails, add a die to doom pool equal to the normal rating of that power die.

19:42, Today: Iceman rolled 3,8,5,4 using 1d8,1d8,1d10,1d10 ((3,8,5,4)). Iceman creating pillars of ice to try and shield himself from the chimps.

I'll spend my 1 PP to add a 3rd die to the total.

Total: 17
Effect: d8
Opportunities: 0
PP's remaining: 0

Through a gap in the ice shield, Iceman spots one of the chimps trashing a little boy's sandcastle. The sight of it ignites a cold anger in the hero as he remembers dealing with the bullies of his own youth. That's all Kraven and his underlings are: a bunch of bullies who need to be dealt with. Spotting Armadillo nearby, Iceman points to him as he calls out to their enemies.

"Hey Kraven, you're in for it now! This guy's beaten the Hulk before! "

More quietly, he adds as an aside:

"Er... You did say you won that fight, didn't you, big guy?"

Issue 0: Hunted!

Armadillo slowly turns his head to his new... teammate? Is that what this guy is? Is this a "team", now? , as the chimps swarm him.

He's got this expression that says, basically can you believe this? This is my life. Just all lost-dignity and resignation.

Meanwhile, the chimps are just futilely gnawing and pulling away.

It's like a bunch of... well, there's not much metaphor to it, it's like a bunch of small, roided up chimps climbing all over and trying to wrestle a giant armadillo guy and failing.

SFX: Invulnerability: Spend a PP to ignore a physical stress or trauma.

While thinking of an answer to Iceman's question that won't lose him
face, Armadillo tries wrangling the primates as best he can, burrowing a hole in the sand deep enough to hold them and toss them in, without hurting them.

Team d10, Burrowing d8, Combat Expert d8
23:29, Today: Armadillo rolled 8,11 using 1d10,2d8 with rolls of 8,7,4.

Total: 15

While he's doing this, he answers:

"Guy knows me, Ice-eh" (he said, making a little pun off ese and Ice) "He tried to have me killed , once."

And, playing semi-dumb off Iceman's Hulk question (making it sound like he could be talking about either the Hulk or Kraven), he adds "Well... I'm here right? Everyone can't say that."

Sneaking an aside glance at the bald lady (who's obviously throwing some big kind of mojo around) to see what she does next, Armadillo keeps working.
