Janek will walk behind, nonchalantly, to see if there is a way to remove the amulet without his knowledge.

Vala sits down and smiles at Rando. The tall barbarian gratefully accepts her first ale. 'Fancy a dice game while we drink?'

Delta assume Vala is asking Rondo, and studiously continues to examine the bar patrons.

Janek may have some deft hands, but taking something from around one's neck without them noticing, is very unlikely.

Rando looks a bit surprised,

.  "Uh well, a pretty lady wants to spend time with Rando, Rando doesn't say no.  What kind of dice game were thinking, and for what stakes"

Vala shrugs and smiles. 'What games do you have down here, and what do you have to bet?' She reached over and tapped a finger against his shirt. 'That necklace looks nice.'

Rando keeps smiling, but shakes his head.  "Can't bet with this".  He pulls the amulet out as if proud of it.

"They call these things iron lids, and they are prized by scribes and bookkeepers as collectable.  I haven't seen one for sale in many years, not sure why they covet them.  Anyhow, I've put this one up for a lottery.  Ten gold buys you a chance at owning it.  I've already sold 27 chances and I'm guessing I'll get 100 before the end of week.  This little thing is going to balance my accounts for awhile".

"Now, the dice.  One gold each, we get three rolls, whoever gets the highest double wins. If neither of us do, or we tie, we add another gold each and try again.  I call it double down dice.  Or if you don't have the coins, I'll put up gold but if I win, you let me take you out on the town one evening".

Behind randy Rando's back, Delta shares a gaze with Tanyl. Things were going well.

She would have to do some research on what an Iron Lid is in the libraries of the guild the next day.

Janek stayed sober today.  He would follow Rando when he left.

Rando seems to collect himself and see the others around the table.

"That goes for any of you who want to join on the dice, cept the offer for a dinner, that only is on the table for the two ladies here..."

Vala laughs. "Very well, I accept your terms."

Delta chokes on her drink at being included, and waves off while trying to get her airways clear again.

I'll play your game.

"I'm game", Taynl says, using the opportunity of participating in the game to evaluate how well their host is holding his liquor.

Rando seems a little buzzed, but that might be normal for him.  He lays a gold piece, and a set of dice, which he rolls three times, scoring a double on the third.

He leaves the dice sitting out for any who wish to try to beat him.

Vala lay down a gold coin of her own, then picked up the bones and blew on them for luck. The barbarian warrioress rolled the dice, once, twice, three times and smiled with delight.

Delta watches curious, while sipping at drink, and still watching the crowd. Does it seem they might like some music?

"Hey Rando, can I repay your generosity with a few tunes for your crowd?"

Rando laughs as Vala collects the winnings.

"Pretty and lucky, you have it all!" he says.  Then to Delta,

"I get a good crowd for dinner during the normal work week, folks in the Gate heading home drop by for a drink or two before setting out, if you want to entertain, I'd be happy to host you.  The house gets 20 percent of your take, that's just standard".

One of his customers at the bar calls for a drink, so Rando excuses himself.

"If you want in on the lottery for the amulet, 10 gold buys you a chance..you seem to have the luck with you..."

Thrilled, Delta pulls out her instrument and begins to tune it up.

Once it is ready she will find a good spot, a stage if there is one, and begin to sing a funny ditty about a farmer who lost his cow, and travels far and wide chatting with a variety of bawdy wild animals trying to find her...

There are many folks at the inn at the moment, but the regulars seem to enjoy Delta's song and offer her a round of drinks on them.  Some more folks drift in and order food, so Rando starts getting too busy for dice or drinks.

As the place fills up, and becomes too loud for her to sing over, Delta returns to the table.

"So, Vala, do you have a hot date?"

"I will buy a ticket," Tanyl offers, paying his ten gold.

When Tanyl offers to buy a ticket, Rando retrieves a ticket with a number on it from behind the bar, and gets Tanyl's information which he writes down in a log.  He lets Tanyl look at the amulet as a courtesy for seeing what he'll win.

There are seven symbols or letters in a line across the back, and one more at the bottom.  He recognizes several of them, from the line, each is actually a number and each in a different language.  Tanyl, being highly good and educated at languages, can actually read the entire line.  Only the symbol/letter at the bottom does he not recognize.
