OCC Thread
<OOC>All right, lets put this game back on track.
This post will act as a reminder of what occurred in the game so far, to allow everyone to restart with the same info.
- The original group, Ersin, Styx, Kali, with Thorin and Sunny added along the way, started the prologue in the Moonshea, each of the original 3 having a vision/quest/adventure pushing them to the east. They end up in the crew of the White Swan, that does an stop in Caer Calydir. There, they discover that the church of Selune head priest was possessed by a intellect devourer. They manage to escape the city guards and convince the captain to set sail right away.
- The White Swan gets caught in a terrible storm. Once it subsides, some hints start to point that they are not in the Forgotten Realms anymore. They sail until they find a land mass and a city under attack by a big ball of lightning. The 5 PCs are tasked to go see if they can enter the city to help by land and find that the gate is open but protected by balls of lightning of 2 sizes. After fighting them off, they meet their first inhabitant of the this new land, Lorelei. The language barrier is present until Lorelei demonstrated that she can speak a little of Draconic. With this translator, the crew offer their services to help the city dwellers that gladly accept, even if they are surprised by the variety of races in the group... the entire population is human.
- Lorelei brings them to talk to Dark Fang, a Black (Obsidian!) Dragon good dragon living in a cave under the city. There, they get an information dump about the world lore and religions. The Overgod was coming to judge the humans by sending his right hand god, the Harbinger. They learn that there are 6 religions in this world, that unified a century ago to prepare for the judgement. This is the 4th age of the world that is ending, the first is lost to myths, the second was for the Elves, the third for the Dwarves. But the day the judgement was supposed to occur, something derailed the plan and now the world is stopped, and they haven't seen the sun raise for 2 weeks now. The PC realize that the storm that brought them in this world occurred when the alignment was supposed to happen.
- Following some information, the group go in the woods outside of the city, guided by Lorraine, a hunter and Lorelei's mother. After some fights, they found a winged woman and her companions being chased by Skraug, a race of giant humanoid rats, where they realize that the skraugs are possessed by four armed shades, that can raise the dead. They manage to survive that fight, and go back in town. Among the companions of Iza, the winged woman, are Karnak, a warrior and Eldric, a wizard without his powers.
- This is where Thalia and Luster join in, with Nax but the goblin barbarian didn't stay long.
- Back in town, they get to see the town prepare for a siege, they get summoned by the military leader of the place and get to meet another, injured, Chosen. She explains that their group was escorting a princess but got ambushed, the group is asked to go rescue her and the rest of survivors of the escort. Using guile and escape tunnels, the group manages this feat, and for the next 3 days the town is under siege by an army of skraugs and grobbles, led by shades. But with the heavy lost, chaotic nature of the beasts and mostly a foiled plot to open the city door from the inside, thanks to the group, the siege is broken.
- In comes Kieran at this point, a wizard from another world that came to investigate the alignment, an event so powerful that it got felt in his dimension too. The group learn from him that he had followed the light being that had attacked the town at the start of the adventure and is coming back to get supplies. IRL made us loose Kali and Styx pretty much then. The group with all the npc go to investigate this claim and they defeat the light creature, realizing it was a normal man possessed by the Seal of Air, one of the seven sentient artefacts that regulate magic in this world. As a trained wizard, with still his powers, Kieran volunteers to become the new Guardian of the Seal of Air, and that domain of magic is restored in the world, Eldric now able to use his air-related powers. One seal found, 6 to go.
- There is a IG pause there and Eldric summons the party to explain his plan... now that he has regain some magic, he will be able to bring the group to the Scriptorium, the Aracnathians HQ, through a backdoor that he hopes their enemies don't know about. The ritual succeeds and this is where we are, the party in a dark room covered in webs, with dark shapes moving around.
I will do one retcon, Kali is not with you.
