Endup

Mission Day:  133

ECEI:           7
Morale:         7
Supplies:     79%

The Endup system. Not the sort of place that you want to. An overcrowded, low-tech mainworld with a tainted atmosphere, run by a religious dictatorship. It is, however, located in a convenient place for jump-3 transit through the middle of the subsector, a convenient midpoint en route to Taomina, and one of the expected stops - to refuel at a local gas giant, not to visit the mainworld - on the race route, although no one from the race is due through just yet.

That doesn't necessarily mean that the system is empty...

Jacqueline, since you're the Astrogator, I'll have you handle the Electronics/Sensors roll required here. It's at 2d6 + 4 due to the ship's advanced sensors.

Jacqueline took the lead in coordinating the scanner sweeps, trying to do more to justify the Captain's support. "Will we be visiting the surface? I hate to miss the opportunity."

09:15, Today: Jacqueline Yune rolled 10 using 2d6+4.  Sensors.

The Baron is in the captain's chair, he steeples his fingers as he stares at the view screen. There is nothing of note on it and yet he is studying it as if there was some secret, some clue hidden somewhere among the stars.

"Unlikely, Sublieutenant. We will make contact with the locals for any signs of suspicious activity but we need to proceed as quickly as possible to the Taomina system to intercept these traitors to the Imperium."

Jacqueline nodded hurriedly and covered up her disappointment that they wouldn't be visiting the planet. "Of course, sir. We'll all stay alert for anything suspicious. We'll catch these pirates." She nervously goes over a couple of her calculations for the future route, even though she's quite sure of it at this point.

The discussion on the bridge was life-fed to the Chief-Engineer desk. She pushed angrily the button opening a private channel to the sublieutenant Yune. The relationship between the Astrogator and the Captain-Baron looked to her like BDSM - without the BD. The Baron was totally owning Yune and squashing every creative idea she had, and the submissive lieutenant seemed to ask for more.

"Jackie", Iita whispered on the microphone, trying not to sound dominating herself, "Think in four dimensions! Time! There may be no trace of Rosax Security ship right now, but they may have passed by days and weeks ago, and we need to call to your knowledge of trajectories to sort out their strategic moves! Why don't you tell the captain the ship is not leaving the system before all the space traffic data is copied? Will you tell him to do this request to the planet - he's the Naval Imperial Authority! Why does he keep forgetting his diplomacy?!"

She inhaled, then continued to speak quickly.
"May I suggest you establish the comms with the planet and transfer the call to the captain!", she pressed on. "

And last, in his haste you have noticed he did not mention a detail: where and how are we going to refuel this ship? If he's in a hurry, maybe he'd want to scoop one of the four gas giants... Show him how intelligent you are and how you could be a pilot too! Iita out"
