There are both large, warehouse sized doors and normal entry portals at the ground level. The 2nd and 3rd stories have balconies circling the building where you can spy windows and doors. The roof is canted.

Can you clarify "canted?" I know what a cant is in a roof, but I don't know how a whole roof can be canted.

Movement seems important so definitely Daring.
After that I think you could easily make a case for almost any other stat and just describe how it applies.

Yep, and now that you can see the big room a short distance ahead you suspect they both connect to it, probably just from opposite sides of the building

So, GM, what kind of roll can I make for Demetrius to try to weave stealthily among the chaos to find Demetrius' friend Patterson? I would argue Cunning + Daring, though my favorite would be Cunning + Reason.

Key framing question for the GM: I can move one zone and still do something (like grab Patterson) this round, right?
Also, reminder that Demetrius is not sticking out with Nantas; he would be hiding to use Nantas as a distraction so he can go in and get Patterson. To that end, Nantas, I would love it if you could keep distracting!

Yes, moving anywhere within Away range (1 zone) takes a Movement action.
With Demetrius' Leaps and Bounds talent you can drop to the floor below (1 zone) for free and then use your Movement action to move to the next zone where Patterson Boon, guards and strange device are.
If Nantas chose to move the same distance it would cost him a Conflict action OR he could spend 1 Momentum for Additional Movement
