"They're probably just messing with you, you know scare the newbie stuff" Eliza said with a matching grin "In sure we'll make a big splash with our first patrol" she added seemingly brimming with confidence "Just gotta get through the school day first"

"Some of it did sound pretty freaky though," Candice said,

Eliza clocked her head "Oh, like what?" she asked

"There was this one monster type they were telling me about was like this ten foot tall giant person, except it didn't have any bones . It oozed forward to move, leaving this gross bloody trail and could be really fast," Candice said.

Eliza nodded "Okay... That did sound pretty creepy. But I'm sure we won't run into anything like that right? They'll probably only call on us somewhere boring and safe to ease us in"

"I hear we got a pretty plum spot to protect," Candice said. "Like 'get your autograph book' good."

"Seriously?" Eliza asked an undercurrent of excitement tingling her voice "Come on spill, you can't hold back on me after that"

Candice stepped forward.

"I hear we're going to be in the area right next to the Star Guardians," Candice said.

"Seriously?" Eliza said with a huge grin on her face "That's awesome, I so have to get thier autographs, this is going to be so cool" she then sighed "School is going to drag today isn't it"

"Maybe we'll get lucky and get an alarm during class," Candice said.

"Oooh, now you're talking" Eliza replied with a chuckle "Speaking of Class, any idea where we are meant to be first?"

That was when the bell rang.

"Come on, I'll show you," Candice said as she took off running.

Eliza chases after Candice "Hey... No fair, wait for me"

*Time passed and it was now lunch time*

Eliza groaned as the lunch bell finally went "I thought that was going to go on forever" she grumbled "what sort of monster puts Maths just before lunch time?"

"So, how's it going?" Candice asked.

"I survived" Eliza replied "Don't suppose you'd lend me your notes later? I tried to keep up but.. You know how it goes"

Candice laughed.

"You must be desperate then."

"If we don't keep our grades up, they don't let us fight" Eliza said "Maybe I can bribe you once we get to cafeteria" she suggested as they walked.

"Okay, but they aren't great," Candice said.

"gah... Why couldn't I get partnered with a genius of somekind" Eliza said in a tone of mock sadness "Well beggars can't be choosers" she added with a sigh "Maybe the food here will make up for my disapointment"

"Hey! Not cool!" Candice said.

The food did look good. Today was spaghetti with meatballs and a salad.

"Come on Candi, let's get food while we still have a choice of space" Eliza said as she filled her plate "This food looks not bad, better than my last schools food at least"

"Fine, fine," Candice said, grabbing a tray and some food before hurrying over to a table.

"So what do you think of school so far?" Eliza asked as she ate "it's more normal than I was expecting" she added as she glanced about at the other girls in the cafeteria.
