Just a reminder of the content of this game - we moved from having slavery a main theme of the setting to pushing it into the background, and reducing the impact it has on the game. The perceived "slaves" that people are engaging with are in fact indentured servants; people that have chosen to become a servant to another person or establishment, to pay off a debt or crime they have committed rather than face exile, deportation, imprisonment or execution. No players are currently classed as indentured servants in this game, though some have given their service to another willingly (and for better pay and working conditions than an indentured servant would have).
Those that refer to others as "master" are doing so as a mark of respect for that person, much the same as you would if you were training under a master swordsman or martial artist to learn the arts of fencing or karate.
Slavery does exist in the game, as it does in most fantasy settings, however it is not a topic that we are going to be engaging with as a major, consistent theme.
The end of the world as you know it is upon you all, and what comes after will change the established social order drastically.
