Happy New Year one and all.

Have had the dreaded Covid run rampant through my family, but it's tailing off and I'm not sleeping half as much as I was.

Thankfully we've escaped the worst of it with only a lot of early nights, long lie ins and plenty of naps on the sofa to show for our troubles. Oh, and the wife has the worst flu like symptoms ever...

How (well) are the buildings holding up in Florentia?

Getting a pounding. Slates, tiles and wood are being ripped off, towers are falling and the debris us impacting on the buildings causing further damage and creating more debris.

I hosed Winblows 10, my computer guy is running a diagnostic and transferring files from a failed drive. He'll be taking the computer with him tonight when he comes back and hopefully repairing it.

Just a reminder of the content of this game - we moved from having slavery a main theme of the setting to pushing it into the background, and reducing the impact it has on the game. The perceived "slaves" that people are engaging with are in fact indentured servants; people that have chosen to become a servant to another person or establishment, to pay off a debt or crime they have committed rather than face exile, deportation, imprisonment or execution. No players are currently classed as indentured servants in this game, though some have given their service to another willingly (and for better pay and working conditions than an indentured servant would have).

Those that refer to others as "master" are doing so as a mark of respect for that person, much the same as you would if you were training under a master swordsman or martial artist to learn the arts of fencing or karate.

Slavery does exist in the game, as it does in most fantasy settings, however it is not a topic that we are going to be engaging with as a major, consistent theme.

The end of the world as you know it is upon you all, and what comes after will change the established social order drastically.

So sorry for the sudden disappearance and lack of updating people.

Real life has been a nightmare for me, and it has been one thing after another after another. And while I'm in a better position to be able to deal with things, none of what is causing the stress is going away any time soon. Added to that, it's coursework time at my school so I'm spending more time marking essays and project work than are available in any given day.

I have tried to write a few posts over the last couple of weeks (I think I updated Cemre's thread not that long ago), but have since failed to get anything up for the rest of you. I have also not been able to complete the background threads that I was planning on adding.

As a consequence I have a feeling that I may have lost some (or all) of my player base. So I'd just like a quick check-in to see who is around, available and still wishing to continue... Sorry for the inconvenience, folks!!

The must successful games on this site are ones where the Gm can take a break for few days or even few months and when he or she back the player just pick things up and carry on as if the last post was yesterday.
