Have I mentioned how much I love shape water cantrip?

Honestly, I think we should follow the Goblin lead. The land is aiding our journey, pointing out the creatures that should not belong, and the Goblin intruders might have some insight as to what might happen if we offend this place. Also, Atraxus speaks Goblin, so I should be able to get some information from them.

I'm not going to jump to conclusions and say that it will be easy, but it certainly seems like the land is willing to let us to find them.

It's okay, it's very stressful but it happens every now and then.  I have one of those jobs with a highly variable work load.

I suppose it's better to be swamped by too much then worried about too little!

Indeed.

Depending what happens, we can lash the two boats together, and Abadon can cover the pair of close vessels under the same illusion - of a large rock or a cloud or floating tree limbs.  That should help with issues along the water.  Also very nice not leaving tracks or scent trail.

I cannot disguise the boats after we leave, so if we do go away from the water, despite the guide's direction, then Atraxus will need to do some survival concealment of the boats.

Sorry, it's going to take me some time to post. Life has gotten super busy at the moment, so I'll get something up ASAP.

I don't want to railroad us, so I'll hold on another post of action until Atraxus or Alison do so... otherwise we keep a'floatin' upstream :)

DM, how are we handling Qui's departure?
Are you wanting to NPC her, replace her, or remove her?

The reason I ask is that we have an easy write her out point here, rather than the awkwardness of explaining why she does nothing, says nothing, isn't involved, and yet would be part of the "team".

If she is being replaced or DM PC, that's fine.

If we are looking at a write-out, Abadon can suggest that she return to town to alert them about the goblins, and provide updated report that they are tracking the river, and gathering in numbers, even with larger creatures in the region.  Whether that is duty to the quest/town/people, or loss of interest/face-saving... doesn't really matter, but can be played both ways.

DM, are the goblins still in sight/we have an idea where they are?

You'd know where to find them by tracking and listening, but they are no longer in sight.
(Tracking if you let them get ahead of you, of course.)

They haven't been very quiet, so you've been able to follow them by sound, and you know they are out in the woods on the other side of the river, out of sight of the bank.

GM, before we leave Sanzi are we levelling up?

Party crossed river to avoid goblins, pacing but unaware of the party.
Party encountered gold dragon looking like it was patrolling.
Abadon used magic to draw the dragon's attention, then point out where the goblins were travelling/hiding.
Dragon routed goblins, is returning towards party.
Abadon arranging welcoming landing spot/tea party for dragon.
