Character Creation

You may find The Archives of Nethys helpful.

Ancestries
All Ancestries and Heritages are fine, including Uncommon and Rare ones.

Classes
All classes are fine. That includes the playtest classes; I'll assume you want to update once your class is officially released, which is also fine.

Alignment
Non-evil

Ability Scores
Standard ability score generation

Starting Level
3

Starting Equipment
As a third-level adventurer, you've already had the chance to acquire some gear.
You may choose one 2nd-level and one 1st-level Common permanent item, along with 25 gp to spend on other gear. Alternatively, you can take the 75 gp lump sum, which can be spent on items of 2nd level and lower.

Rarity and Source
You have access to anything Common, as well as to other features you gain access to as normal. Anything rarer you can run by me.
Please note the source of anything you take that isn't from the CRB, or Ancestry and Class features or feats not from the same source as your Ancestry or Class.

Character Creation

As third-level adventurers traveling together to a foreboding haunted house, you've presumably been together for a while. You can be rewarded with an extra Hero Point for forging a connection to another PC.

We can also talk about why you're headed there. That will probably take a little bit of discussion once the group is gathered, but feel free to make suggestions in your character proposal.

Perhaps your characters have heard rumors about Xarwin Manor, known as one of the "most-haunted forgotten places." Perhaps you're traveling there to investigate a particular topic--perhaps having been hired to do so.

Or perhaps one of you is, technically, the actual owner of the mansion. The family who lived there are gone. They had no known living relatives, and the area underwent some political turmoil. When Ravounel separated from Chelaxian rule, the task of sifting through decades of paperwork to make restitution to families who suffered under House Thrune became one of the new nation's goals. The complex maze of redactions and missing documents has made it a maddening task, but now and then a discovery is made.
Perhaps one such discovery has named one of you the last surviving heir the Xarwin line. You might be a direct descendant of a surviving Xarwin sibling, an adopted child, or even the offspring of a close family friend. Whatever the connection, researches determine that you are the rightful inheritor of the Xarwin estate, including the forgotten manor and, probably, most of what remains within its walls.
Even if the adventurer simply wishes to liquidate, rather than occupy, the old manor, they are required to ensure that it is safe before they can legally sell it. And the rumors do say it's haunted--perhaps dangerously so. Better check it out, either way.

If you're interested in your character being the heir, just say so.
The Xarwins were human Chelaxian nobles, though some of Lord Xarwin's siblings (accused of high crimes) may have fled elsewhere--Lord Xarwin himself surely has no surviving descendants.
