ATTRIBUTE AND SKILL ADVANCEMENT

Due to the stretched-out gaming time of PbP games, a modification of the Attribute and Skill advancement rules needs to be made.

Due to the fact that nothing much happens during Jump time, that's not only a good time to do the studying and training necessary, but various computer programs have been designed to simulate that. As memory became virtually unlimited, all that additional space got filled with various bells and whistles which included training sims.

Picking up a new skill at Rank-0 requires 2 weeks of training.

2 weeks of training is required to raise a skill from rank-0 to rank-1,
2 weeks of training is required to raise a skill from rank-1 to rank-2,
3 weeks of training is required to raise a skill from rank-2 to rank-3, etc.

Maximum # of skills is still equal to Int + Edu. 0-rank skills don't count. Maximum number of ranks for all skills should be three times that.

Advancing Attributes works the same way: 8 weeks to raise Str-7 to Str-8, etc.

I suggest a good way to keep track of your training is to use a decimal notation.

Training to raise Pilot skill from Rank-2 to Rank-3 requires 3 weeks of training, so after the first week, you'd have Pilot-2.1 and after the second week, it'd be Pilot-2.2, and finally after the third week, it'd now be Pilot-3.

Unless something else is going on during a Jump, you can study two separate skills at the same time, or study one skill and train one Attribute, but you can only raise one Attribute at a time.

DOWNTIME TRAINING

If everyone agrees to take the time and opportunity to study/train outside of Jump, you can do that. For the most part, nothing much else will happen while you are doing so on a planet, for instance. It will require the expenditure of credits at the rate of 100Cr per Rank training for as it will involve a more hands-on approach, extra research, real-time training and distractions, all-night parties, etc.

Gvoudzon studied Theodore Bickle's Resumé and became green with jealousy.
Theodore was an outstanding broker, better gunner, knew half a dozen languages; knew astrogation, and electronics Gvoudzon ignored... a really impressive person, whereas the Vargr was average and ordinary.

It seemed however to Gvoudzon - even though Bickle wanted to try Engineering - that the latter hadn't learned as much maintaining and operating a spacecraft’s power plant as the ex-corsair. Gvoudzon resolved to study more Engineering (Power) in the following weeks, in order to keep an advance on the newcomer.

The next time Gvoudzon crossed the path of "Teddy", he bumped into him and said "Don't go near the Power plant. 'this my prerogative. Okay?", before going back to his way.

OOC : During the two weeks in jump-space, Gvoudzon studies Engineering (Power) to get to +1.1 and +2

Andrew spend much of his spare time studying the analysis learning Animals 0 in the process. He hoped to unlock the mystery of why were drawn to his crewmembers.  Failing that he hopes to gain a knowledge about the 'holy creatures so he can get a good price, and hopefully a good home for them before  Danila throws them out the airlock

Gvoudzon skimmed through the list of courses in the library. "Psychology 101" - yawn. Electronics fidgeting was fun, but he knew his limited intelligence and lack of education would hamper his efforts. And in his versatile mind, he felt he had seen all of the Art of brokering - besides, there'll always be someone more skilled than him.

"screw this.", he barked aloud. Better engage in a self-betterment program. The versatile Vargr improvised a dojo where he could find the place, and started a 9-week long training in improving his DEX.

The Baron Feri must have been really stranded on Zila, not to have found a jump-3 ship allowing him to save 2 weeks! ;)

Over the last series of jumps, Alyx finishes Science 0, then 1(xenology).

He'll also work on Baron Oberlindes doing work to repair his reputation and comforter to eventually increasing SOC.

We left Pysadi on Day 88
we arrived on Zila on the 95 (1 week)
We skimmed fuel on day 97 and jumped
we Refuelled in Carsten on the 111, after two jumps-1, (2 weeks)
the 119, Arrival to Aramanx (1 week)
