Hopefully Gvoudzon hasn't overdid the brandy. We wouldn't want our mad Varg to get so drunk he might for example confuse the fresher for the galley or visa versa ;P

Re: OOC (2)

Hi everyone, it appears I've turned up just at the right time! I'm looking forward to playing.

Don't worry about the gun-bunny avatar, Dixon's a nice guy of sorts.

I'll just do a major flick through of the last threads to get an idea of the immediate past so I can meet up.

Dixon is a security guy but he's also a down to earth(s) negotiator; he's much happier to see things run smoothly with a little greasing of palms or favours returned than blazing weapons - although that's also a skill of his. His specialty is ship security both on-planet and off-planet with a sideline in damage control.

Personality-wise he's easy going, reliable and utterly corrupt - just like a 'good' CorpSec should be.

Re: OOC (2)

Just about to write an intro.

Does anyone want any background with Dixon?

I was thinking he might contact a player looking for a job. He's no good as starship crew but is awesome at keeping people from doorknocking about strange Aslan religions or trying to sell dodgy ship insurance.

Tal Atvar, the former security guy, is gone now. All other characters are controlled by players, some have two, not sure who off hand, I'd have to look. We are at a crossroads now. We can take different directions.

I am sorry I didn't respond fast enough and lost another player. I was waiting  for the character to be inserted in the game to respond the character. It is regrettable that the player didn't have the patient that the other players have learned.  so  I would like to get things started and continue and doing everything on my part to do so.

Re: OOC (2)

In PbP games it's considered polite to answer all questions, even in the negative.

I've been running these games for over twenty years and have had up to twenty players going and interaction is the only things that make these things work. If you can't be bothered to answer another player you can't be bothered to make the game work.

I wouldn't call it a lack of patience but rather an understanding of how these fail.

Re: OOC (2)

Well, Joonan quitting is sad. Gvoudzon and him had developed common background, and relationships... that does not encourage me to establish links with D. Lyshenko... ;'(

Here's how I see rpol-ing, without having been there 20 years:
- participate in lots of games, so when one game is slow, the other are still going
- for the same reason, a game is not dead which can eternal lie - it's only asleep until some players and a DM reignite the fire...
- Don't quit a game in which you want to take part

Nerull:

I see what you're doing here, Nerull! ;) You'd like to sneak out of the game you started! Except as the GM, that would be seen ;)

Let me help you out keep the rhythm. Maybe the other players were too subtle with their roleplay and such. Maybe we should rephrase our statements so that you just have to answer by yes or no.

1. The PCs visit the Count and offer him that they are willing to find the Mammoth if the count sponsors them with the new hunter/trader ship. After all, we're on a Far Trader that isn't even ours, and the contract prohibits us to err in the Vargr reaches.

Does the Count answer yes, or does he say nay?

We're playing a scenario named "the Traveller Adventure". What does the scenario say? :)

Re: OOC (2)

This game keeps popping up, so I’m not officially out until the GM releases me from my characters. :D

That said, my frustrations with this game is mainly related to lack of direction.

You folks planned for a new ship and entire month and a half. The story was suspended, then we get back on track, get the encounter with Banerji’s crew, take over the ship, some really interesting RP — while Joonan and Gvou — are stuck god knows where away from all the action (which I didn’t mind so much since I had another character to fall on); we then weave in Juraj as he tries to take the ship from under us... Then suddenly the encounter is over and the mission is done, with no explanation or denouement. Suddenly we’re in front of Lord so and so, the momentum diffused to the four winds.

Joonan was hired on as a gunner — who has yet to shoot a single thing might I add — then we get another player and I assume everyone was shell-shocked from the sudden change in direction that no one answered him as we were about to hit another directionless month as we rehashed whether to take the new ship, the captured ship, or go back to the business we were hired to do.

As palyers recounting a story, we need story hooks. Not opportunities. We can have anything we want, the ships we want, but at the end of the day, we need plot hooks, and not sit down debating where to go next.

Re: OOC (2)

I realize that the Game has stalled. When I noticed activity I almost didn't want to respond. But despite the very long pauses I have enjoyed the roleplaying with the dedicated individuals who have stuck despite those long pauses.

I was here at the the beginning when our GM  was a fellow player on another Traveller when that GM started to ghost his own game. It was an ambitious concept in which the GM was planning to with a regular campaign combined with use of the 'Dynasty' supplement. I was looking forward to see how it would play out but the game faded to black before the character could begin their Dynasty phase of the game.

That wasn't the first game which I had the GM fade out on their game but I understand that shit happens. Real life problems can overwhelm one to the point that they have little or no time for their game. Sometimes the muse that drove them to create a fascinating game world just leaves them and just figure out a way for the story to continue.

I would love nothing more for the story to continue cause I love the current cast of characters, even Gvoudzon the crazy and lovable Varg that drives the Captain to distraction. But If like the GM before him he have difficultly that Nerull can let us know.

If it seems to just a temporary case of writer's block we can hold out for a bit longer. If you need more suggestions the group would be willing to help on setting a new direction we can go from there.

If the GM feels the current choices being laid out for him is not to his liking would like to propose a new direction let us know. The worse thing that could happen is that we say no and we can part on good terms rather than the game just stopping with no explanation.

The GM should be having fun as well as the player. I certainly we can restart this game but if we can't I want the GM and everyone one the cast who are still here that appreciated the game he had up to this point and hope to meet you in other games

What Ancients? 8) Sorry, not understanding the reference. And we want to offer to the Count to hunt the Mammoth if the Count sponsors them with the new hunter/trader ship. What says he? :)
