Re: OOC Chatter (1)

Sorry to see you go, best of luck.

In my opinion, Leroy did not do anything which could not be explained away due to being a rich entitled brat, with a high opinion of himself. Sure, it didn't make any friends, but that conflict could be interesting.

Yep, I think he had a plenty room for a character development. It's a pity he left.

The situation was interesting and possibly salvageable in character. The fact that he argued it so hard OOC is was a little off-putting, to me, though I tried to be open. If he made it clear it was an RP choice it could have gone better.

Re: OOC Chatter (1)

I noticed that our lurker has become Jeffrywith1e. Are they becoming a PC or just changing name in the system? We still have some skill decisions to make and knowing who's in will help.

On an unrelated note, why did nobody tell me that the new interface is so much better optimised for mobile?

I didn't know that myself. That would certainly make doing entries from work easier.

While character conflict can make for interesting roleplay both side have to be able to not to take any conflicting views the characters may have personally. What I heard from Leroy did not give me confidence he was able to do that. Other than that it is a shame the player left only because he got some facts wrong.

Still finishing him up, a roller coaster of a career, he will have a focus on Astrogation. Much of what he tried to do did not go according to plan, however Astrogation came out very well.

Re: OOC Chatter (1)

Sounds like the rest of us misfits. I think that probably means that we still need someone to step up as a broker or hire agents. I've asked the GM if I can shift around my Connections skills to cover that.

Re: OOC Chatter (1)

There are several ways to deal with Broker, and for freight and passengers, other skills (especially Streetwise) also work.

In reply to Alyx Karoll (msg # 245):

I tried using the character generator on the munsondevelopment.com and it didn't save and lost the progress (which was fine, wasn't thrilled with that outcome). So when I got home I started over using the RPGSuite program and the character came out much better and far more strait forward for a career. Strongly in Astrogation and Broker.

What did you guys use for your characters?

Freddy Vicuna Merchant/Broker
66BCE89

University Grad. Went on to Murchant/Broker and stuck with that for 7 terms.

First term  he made a contact with Noble Diplomat (John Bounds, random name- could easily be connected to any contacts anyone else has hanging).
Second term  had tangles with a Smuggler (Talon Card, again- random filler for a name, and again- could easily connect with anyone else's contacts if that all works out).

As a Broker, Freddy twice was able to make great investments against his benefits and came out ahead in each case. $$$

Also, for Benefits, he rolled and ended up with 75% of a Free Trader.

I do chargen by hand (or keyboard, at least) via notepad. It's not fancy but it means I can track everything.

Looks like he'll fill in our gaps fine. I'm curious how you ended up with so many skills at 0 (the large number of other skills doesn't surprise me with University plus 7 terms. You're lucky to get through that without being crippled by age)

Re: OOC Chatter (1)

I has looking at that too. Most of those skills didn't come up during creation, but there they are on the sheet. When I translate it to here I'll stick with what was actually earned and try to figure out why the program is doing that later. It's a cool program, but appears to have some bugs.

The RPGSuite character summery shows the skills properly.

obviously I'll be going with this version.

Re: OOC Chatter (1)

Fred welcome aboard, how are you at wheeling and dealing in cases of scotch and other assorted goods for getting what you want in regards to being a broker.    What I mean is, my character is a former senior nco from the marines and is trying to get things for us to get so that we can get a cargo possibly.    I already have the three cases of good scotch and I willing to give our broker 10KCr. in order to get supplies like this in order to further this cause, the Captain knows about it as well as the GM.   You could talk to them if I'm not articulating enough.

Re: OOC Chatter (1)

Freddy rolled Free Trader 3 times (25% each time for 75% total). He never did roll a TAS membership, but he very much wants membership.

Rolling a Free Trader = 1 ship share. Correct?

Allowed to trade 1 ship share for 1 TAS membership application. Correct?
