You guys need to talk it out and decide what you want to do. Four turrets, Two turrets, Fire control computer. It's all up to you. Put your arguments in your posts and then go from there.

My character is not even present, but as a player I like Danila's spreadsheet (well done Danila!) :) and my attention was drawn to the following element :

Medical Bay (Nt8)
price 2,000,000
mass 4 tons

The equipment list is not limitative ; there certainly exist variants - cheaper, smaller stuff...

We could argue to the DM that NT9 and NT10 are miniaturized versions of the NT8 med bay ; and maybe we don't want the full version, but a cheaper one ; so for example 1 MegaCr and 2 tons mass, and half the bed capacity...
But the point is : we could cover its costs by charging the passengers more (high, middle or even low). Maybe the GM could grant a 10% ticket price increase when we can tell the passengers "during this one-week trip, if you fall ill, suffer from a heart attack or low berth malfunction, we can cure you in our exclusive medical bay" ;)

And I propose that we limit the investment to 5 tons in mass . Because the cargo capacity is 205 tons - if we reduce it to 200 tons, the repartition of the freight in % is much easier to compute! ;)

How many share are we talking here? I believe our departing crewmen took a chunk with them.

The earlier list had Carver, Tal, Khuevaengh, and Gvoudzon with two each, and Danila, Andrew, and Alyx with none. I don't know about Frederick.

So at least 8, and maybe more than that.

If he wants to put personal money into the shadow fund, sure. That doesn't actually have to be done right now, though!

Just to be clear the Captain is not advocating anyone's suggestion on how use the new shares,not even his own . Since he has no shares he has no say. It is ultimately up the share owners how they want their shares spent.

On a theoretical not; say we elect put our shares into revenue and we get another opportunity such as useful salvage or more shares/capital could we revisit our options to upgrade and reallocate ship shares then?

The ship is still in refit and none of us has ever been aboard (heck, Alyx wouldn't even know if we CAN get aboard yet).

Alyx has "set medic" level training and is really smart, but wouldn't consider himself a "field medic" and certainly not a Doctor. Khuevaengh is about as good, but probably has some formal certification. I don't know that we have anyone better.

The ship is open to you all. Khue is medic 1. He wasn't shot, he was beaten so there may be internal injuries, you have to figure that out.

  Medic 1, +2 Int/Edu, and a good medkit. A hospital could probably do a better job with all of their staff and high-end equipment, but this probably isn't a situation that calls for it.

Same effective rolls as Alyx, but Alyx will generally defer to Kheuvenaengh since he has the formal training/certification whereas Alyx has spent a lot of time with set medics and medical advisors and not formal training (Medic 0, +3 int/edu).

The joke is Anglic is still a foreign language to Gvoudzon (as his use of set phrases show), so when he heard Danila say
he assumed "Datman" was Copeland's last name, like Alyx is "Mister Alyx"'s last name ;)
and Copeland didn't correct him so far...
This is the kind of cultural blunders that happens when you don't know for example that in East Asia the naming order is : "last name, first name" ;)
Now that he hears "captain Copeland", he may assume that it's a privileged denomination used by his crew only... but should he consider himself already as part of his crew, of would this be premature and thinking he's the Aslan's whiskers?

All that hints that Gvoudzon is from outside the Imperium >like Khuevaengh<, and is culturally very different from assimilated Vargr like Khuevaengh :)
