Hello!

Any thoughts on classes?

GM do you have any character creation guidelines?

Okay, now we've got 4 of us.

Character creation.
I think most things from published books would work.  Maybe steer clear of things that are known to be super unbalanced, like the synthesist summoner.  Kingmaker has a lot of outdoors exploration - you can see the Player's guide on Paizo's site for free.  There are some dungeons, so while something like a Cavalier might be more useful than the average AP, there's still some situations when a medium-sized person on a large mount still wouldn't work.

What's the usual point buy assumption?  I think the APs are supposed to be built around 15 points, but if there's three of you, we should go a little higher.  20 work?

I might be interested in a ranger going for ranged and two-handed.

I’m reading through the player’s guide now. I’d like to play a Druid for the first time... or a treant.

Why not both?

You could ask for permission to play an oakling (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/races...-publishing/oakling/) and flavor it as a baby treant. :-)

I've read through the players guide and this is a very interesting concept. It reminds me of the Test of the Warlords module I played through as a kid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Test_of_the_Warlords

...although a lot better :)

Oh, and I looked through the oakling and it looks like a little fun, although a little OP :)

I would like to play something different like that, as long as it meshes with the DM's concept for how the game will fit together.

Yeah, Oaklings are probably a tad more powerful than standard races, but not by much. Standard stat bonuses (although perfect ones for a melee druid), +2 natural armor and saves against a fairly broad spectrum of effects. You'd lose natural armor in wild shape though, so there's that. Also, with only three of us (most adventure paths assume 4 PCs), being a bit higher power than usual might be helpful.

For my oracle, I was thinking order of the godclaw, with the idea being that has "ideas" about a new, perfectly society and joins the mission to bring a new order to chaos.

Yeah, I think the module is fairly flexible.  I mean, at some point, you're going to end up running a kingdom.  Probably at least one of you should be something relatively "normal", though maybe if you all were strange races you'd aim to get a lot of the other strange race to settle there.

So shall we finalize character creation?
Point buy, 20? 25?
Two traits?

Yeah, let's go with 20 pts, two traits sounds good.

Great! I’ll get on it. With a character a little more sensible than a treant :)

This is DnD we are doing?

I'm comfortable running 3.5, 5E or Pathfinder.  I think the consensus here was for Pathfinder, right?

Any thoughts on allowing another player into the game?  Someone just sent me an RTJ.

They're Vatticone, who is playing Zylphyr Liorinin in GralphidB's Lost Crusade game.

I prefer pathfinder, although I'm ok with 5e.

I have no problem with Vatticone, a good player who posts regularly. Did you advertise the game, or did Vatticone just find it?

Thanks for letting me butt in! Is everyone still going with Ranger, Oracle, and Druid? A Magus or Wizard might complement that.

Well, unless we think it'll be too many front-liners or not enough spell power, I think I'll go Magus? Just need the go-ahead and to have my character sheet unlocked.
