I kept going back and forth between more of a melee oracle and more of a caster one. If you're going to go Magus, I'll go full casting-focused, doing a mix of blasting, debuffing, and buffing.

Ranger could be melee or ranged, and druid could be melee or caster focused (or both if you get an animal companion).

Well, I don’t know if ‘too many members who can survive in melee‘ is really a problem. :D And either way Oracle will have full 9-level casting.

Ok, I have a concept that's starting to gel. Half-orc Oracle of the Godclaw mystery, spirit guide archetype.

Mechanics wise, I'm dumping str in favor of charisma, which will make the first level or two a bit rough until I get enough spells per day to be consistently useful. Focusing on evocation and debuffing (using Asmodeus's Boon to turn damaging spells into debuffs), plus the general versatility of a full-caster, albeit a spontaneous one. Spirit Guide (which I will flavor as concentrating on the different aspects of the Five Gods of Order he draws power from) will give him a decent bit more versatility from day to day.

I always forget I need to unlock character sheets, because I only do it once per game.  In any case, that's done.  All the concepts sound good so far.  Put done some pen to paper (or electrons to digital storage) and let's see those characters.

If it works for everyone else, I'm settling on the concept of Logan Garess, a lesser noble with a troubled past and some emotional and moral shortcomings.

Just a quick heads up: I’m donating a kidney to a family member tomorrow, so I’ll probably be out of touch for a day or so.  Everyone work on making you character and we can start playing by the end of the week?

Back from the hospital. Not 100% (and not getting back to work yet) but I can type.

Glad to hear it went well. I'm 95% done with my character sheet. Still need to find a picture.

So how does it feel being down a kidney? I've only had wisdom teeth removed and I'm still aware of an empty space back there!

Well, aside from the pain constantly emanating from my still-healing abdomen?  Not too much different.
I just switched from Percocet to Tylenol because I wanted to get back to work after taking a week off, and I don't think I can really concentrate on the good stuff.  But apparently it takes like 2-3 days for Percocet to stop working, whereas I thought it stopped working after like 6 hours.  So learning about all the places where I'm hurting but didn't realize it because I've been on paid meds for the past week.

Ugh. Sounds nasty.

I think I'm done with my sheet. How's everyone else doing on it?

Mine's been done for a while now, but it looks like the other two haven't logged in since I joined. How did you all get together before I found the game? I assumed it was the 'Wanted - GMs' board since I don't watch that.

Nah, it was by rMail. The GM messaged a bunch of people from an old game we had all been in together and asked if we were interested in starting a new game.

Yeah, looks like we only have two players actually logging in.  We could move forward and attempt to find more people from Players Wanted?

Players Wanted or by reference(though vouching for another player has bitten me in the ass before.)  However you like, if you're up to it(take all the time you need to recover.)

Yeah, seems like if we're going to play we'll need to do some recruiting.

So, do any of you know people to fill out a game?  I have to admit, my pool of references here is pretty low - I just started back in after I was able to work from home back in march.  At my office, they block RPOL, but I'll be working from home through at least next year.

Last time I recommended someone it bit me and GralphidB in the ass, so I'd rather not. :/

It might be better to post a wanted ad, over-recruit, and kill off the disappointing ones. }:^)

I'll ask around in the games I'm in, but I agree it might make sense to advertise in the players-wanted thread.

I think one or two of the players from my game sent in RTJs, so that might give us a good group.

I’ve got two people who have sent me RtJs already, one who I played with before, so I think that might be good for now?  I can add them and we can finish character discussion and then start the game. Maybe if we need new blood we can turn to Players Wanted.

Hi!
I’m playing Setu in GralphidB’s game, and also briefly played in one of angryjohn earlier games.

I was thinking wizard or druid — any preferences or suggestions?

If you’re going magus and oracle, we have intelligence and charisma covered, maybe a wisdom-based caster would be better.
