Experience Points
After much thought, and a bit of researching into the how experience was handled in other online games, I’ve decided that starting Sunday, I will award XP based on the number and quality of posts.
The rules are as follows:
1. 1 xp each day that the player makes a significant IC post (at least a few sentences long. So far, I haven’t seen any posts that would not qualify)
2. Maximum of 5 xp earned this way per week.
3. Maximum of 20 xp per month.
4. For simplicity sake, I will not be doing seekings (the way mages increase arete) during the first main adventure (and possibly not during adventures at all). If the game continues after the first adventure, seekings will be handled during the downtime between it and the beginning of the next adventure.
5. I may provide extra experience for significant OCC posts added to the Helpful Hints thread.
6. I will total up the XP earned approximately every two weeks and keep a tally here.
Edit: Due to the fact that posts have slowed down substantially, I will now total up the XP earned at the end of each month.
7. If we bring in a new player, they will start with the average amount of XP that everyone has earned.
8. Since we have been playing for exactly two months at this point, right now everyone had 40 xp
