"Set for death twice? I never did find out what you and Captain Ploon were arrested for.."  Koi figures that it must have been something exciting if the First Order has two death sentences on the other members of the crew.  "But I think that would be nice. If we're going to look around this system, we might as well decide how we're going to do it somewhere pretty. And there might be someone interesting living here. Or some interesting plants."

Koi barely constrained her urge to wait for the scans (and Captain Ploon) to confirm it was (more or less) safe to go out on the beach. It was nice to even see green plant afternoon the desert. "Have you been the beach Wix?  Can you swim?"

The Jawa's head was a constant swivel. This was more life and diversity in one place than he had seen in his entire life.

"What 'swim'?" He asked simply. "Swim not Jawa word"

"Swim is..run or tunnel in water with your body." Koi suggests as possible definitions. "It can be very pleasant. Water partially holds you up so you feel light. But a large amount of water -- like the ocean -- can have currents, which are like a strong wind.  It can blow you off course if it is strong."

Koi smiles at AG, "Isn't this beautiful? Do you like to swim?" She asks, more than a little giddy at the prospect of meeting and befriending new trees, and new civilizations.

The soldier shrugged "I guess. Wasn't really a recreational thing for me. Just another aspect of training. It was something I was good at." He replied with a slight shift in tone. "Where and when it was available, I would select that as my physical test rather than a run. I think that's where I started getting a reputation for being unusual."

Koi listens thoughtfully, "My father said it's more interesting to swim in a lake or ocean, but people on Core worlds usually to swim in pools. It sounded like it was not uncommon, but I don't know if it's unusual." Given that the only soldier she appears to know is Oro, she doesn't have a good reference for comparison. She considers, "I suppose I don't mind running when it's necessary, but I don't..enjoy it..in the way some do." She makes the sour face of someone who has been on the receiving end of the 'jogging is the best, fun exercise ever' speech.

"Is there something that you prefer for recreation?"  She is quite curious, "Besides reading."

"I like music. I think" He replied, very unsure of himself "I mean, never really listened to it, but like the idea of it. There were a couple of missions where we did some interdiction ops, and I could hear some kinda rhythmic noise in the distance. Pretty sure it was music. Was always curious for more, but didn't want to break contraband rules."

A shadow crosses Koi's face for a moment. Every time she thinks she's understood the First Order's cruelty, it finds a new way to kick a platypuppy. Even with plenty of cantinas on Tatooine, and audio-recordings so prevalent that even the dustiest rim world has heard of 10,000 songs and composers -- AG barely knows what music is. But this is something they can remedy -- Koi's expression quickly turns thoughtful, "You're welcome to listen to my meager collection of music recordings any time, but Mel's library is much better than mine."

She confides, "Mel also has a great singing voice -- but he'll only sing if he's in a good mood.  Or a little drunk. But I love to hear it.  Would you like to ask him to play something over the ship's speakers?"  She isn't sure whether he wants to start immediately or figure it out over time. Captain Ploon said not to push him -but surely this counts as opening a door?...and maybe beckoning effusively..

"Thank you." He replied earnestly, looking around the area, his eyes fixated on Wix trying to come to grips with this world being so different from his desolate home.

"So...what now?"

"Well," Koi explains, "Captain Ploon and Mel will probably look over the scanner data from the other planets in the system and decide which ones they want to visit, and what they want to do there. Oro is probably doing a bunch of scans to make sure there isn't anything or anyone very dangerous in the area." Koi is pretty comfortable with other people make the large scale decisions.

"I'm hoping everyone has a chance to relax. I usually just wander around and see what the planet is like.Sometimes I find an interesting rock or plant, or go for a swim or climb. If I find something that I think I can cook up, I'll harvest some.
Usually everyone is pretty tired of prepared food after a flight. After a bit or planning and such, we'll do an inventory and see if the ship or equipment needs any repairs, take some environmental samples if Oro and Mel find something interesting on a scan."
Koi isn't the kind of person who has need to schedule every day, or cram it full of efficiently done tasks. It occurs to her that AG is probably a very pro-schedule person. By habit if not by preference.

She considers, "You're welcome to come exploring with me.  I'm told I'm not particularly talkative when I'm out in the wild, but if you want to stretch your legs and have a think, you might like it. Or I have a hammock on the ship, if you want to listen to the waves and wind."

"Alright, I'll grab a pack and my hat and let Captain Ploon know where we're going." Koi smiles, "Let's start by going along the beach.  Maybe something interesting washed up."

It's a quick detour inside the ship to grab some supplies and a comm for essentially a day hike.  Koi is so well organized, it's pretty clear that it's not her first time in the outback.

There was something interesting for sure, but not immediately evident. There was a copse of tall spindly trees that had been broken near their base and splintered. Although the direction of the trees were scattered they all had the same origin for breaking point, from back to front, towards the water.

The strong presence of the force is in the same direction, beneath the waves somewhere.

As she warned him, Koi fell silent as they left the ship behind. Stretching for a moment, she fell into an efficient stride that seemed to leave little trace on the fine beach sand.  She looks near the base of the trees for any foot prints, and carefully walked around them to see if there was anything trapped in the fronds.

She didn't say anything, just tried to reason out why what was in the water smashed the trees.  Was there fruit in the branches?  A competitor?  She turned towards the water, and reached out with the senses, using the Force to get a better sense of the presence in the water.

There were no footprints, except the ones caused by present company. The trees had been dead for some time now, so there was no fruit to take.

"Koi" AG called "Take a look at this" as he stands neat one of the trees struck higher, pointing upwards "theres shrapnel stuck in the wood of these trees."

Koi leaves off her rudimentary jedi meditation, and comes over to look at what AG found. "Can you see what it's made out of?" She asks, shading her eyes as she looks up.  If she need to get a closer look she'll climb up the tree and try to pull the shrapnel out.

"No telling specifics" he looked beyond the trees, and made an arcing motion with his hand "but if I had to take a guess, I think it's part of a craft. Something crashed here"

Koi tries to pull the piece of shrapnel out of the tree trunk. "Mel or Wix might be able to figure out what kind of ship this came from.  These trees look like there were crashed into..maybe a couple weeks or months ago?"  She looks ruefully at Koi, "If it happened a month ago, there could be survivors. But I am worried that they might not be friendly."

Although the trees appear thin and spindly compared to that of a forest tree, they are strong enough to withstand a climber. Taking the shrapnel out suggests the possible assesment you had may have been incorrect. There's some severe weathering on the exposed surface of the metal, contrast to the part that was embedded.

Holding the piece of the metal and refocusing, you can see that the Force element that you feel is associated with the craft that must have crashed here and embedded in the floor of the ocean.
