It is amazing how closely the heroes lived by each other.  (MacDonald may be there for another reason) Everyone is just waking up .  A new day has arrived.

As the heroes start to get their day in motion,  a loud bellow could be heard from outside.     I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!

That is followed by a very loud crash sound.  Flicker, your apartment (or house) is suddenly impacted by a bus being thrown at it.

Not the alarm he expected, but getting up is getting up. Assuming there are no bus parts sticking into his room, Wilton knows only that there was a crash and exposition outside. Sitting up, he turns off his stabilization device and puts it under the bed before getting up and taking a feather from his nightstand. Holding the feather over his head, he lets it go and rushes into his costume. Once dressed, he measures the distance from the feather to the floor and notes it in an unmarked notebook.
Flicker tamps down on his temporal velocity, and exits the building by the back door. Birds and bugs hover silently in place, their wings stilled. As he rounds the corner to the front street, he stops and allows his temporal velocity to return to normal as he surveys the scene. To anyone on the street, he appeared from nowhere. It seemed as if during the first half of a second he wasn't there, and through the remainder of the time, he was. It seemed that way because it was that way, but Flicker wasn't telling.
All the master of his own time says is, "well, what have we here?"

Hearing the crash just up the street Charge frowned. "...the hell? Can't there be one day when nothing happens..."

She would change to her hero costume then head outside to see what the heck was going on. Dropping a couple CD's down she would step onto them and glide down to the scene of the wreckage looking out for anything or anyone that caused it.

Last night was a total fiasco.  Not that it was anyone's fault, but her debut arrival at the riot was delayed by that incident in Skipper's Lab was just a quirky bit of fate gone wrong.  What's done was done though.  Barbara made the attempt to put everything behind her and at Skipper's urgings got some early bed rest.

She was up pre dawn, and out was dressed 'casually' to do some light exercise by jogging around the neighborhood.  She had perfect knowledge of the neighborhood... which was odd since it was really the first time she was actually getting a chance to actually see things first hand.

It was around this time that a bus came flying through the air to hit a building.  The ensuing property damage was to be expected, but shocking none the less.

"Oh... that can't be good.", Barbie mumbles to herself, as she breaks out into a run to get closer to see if anyone was hurt from the incident.  Anyone actually on the bus was going to be in serious trouble, not to mention people that might be residents of the building.

Richard, after a poor showing at the mall, decided that perhaps he needed a better exercise regimen. To that end, he started at the break of dawn in his personal gym, and after 2 hours of exercise had decided a brisk 10 mile jog was in order. After showering, he instead opted for a rigorous swing around the city, refamiliarizing himself with the skyline and his personal 'highway in the sky'. It wasn't until he came across the suburbs that he heard a yelled statement and was greeted by the unique sight of a bus flying across his vision to impact a residence. Turning towards the probable source (based on velocity and projectile path) he swings down to see if he could at least corral one menace this week.

It is obvious that at least 20 people on the bus are hurt, some severe.   Inside the building 4 people are hurt.

There is one homeless looking person standing in a direct line to where the bus must have been thrown.   He smells like alcohol.

Barbie calls in the 911 that there was a bus accident, that two dozen people are injured, and to request medical assistance.  She'll also point out that there seems to be meta humans in the area, and to approach with caution.

Barbie moves to the bus, and starts to perform first aid where ever possible, treating the most severely injured, that she feels capable of treating, first.

"Hey... everyone... I'm here to help.

 I know this is scary, but i need everyone to remain calm to improve the chances of all of us getting through this.  If you're capable of moving by yourselves, please depart the bus in a calm and orderly manner, helping those that might be more injured than you is the right thing to do, and I know you all want to do the right thing.

 I suggest taking cover in the building, and laying low till the excitement is over.  If you have your cellphone, please call 911 and report the incident."

April raises the bed to get Ava semi-upright, and pulls her out of bed still half asleep with food coma and works to get her dressed.

Grabbing Ava's collapsible board on the way, she helps Ava maneuver out of the front door to survey the scene.

  Coffee is important to most folks first thing in the morning. As it is to the man known as Redacted. He doesn't dress like one would expect a super to dress at least not when he is on the way into the office. As the bus sails by a block down he sighs and pulls his cell phone. "This is Redacted. Operator ID Aleph-Zeta-Drake 62 Gorgon. Have a rogue Metahuman near Starbucks on Atlantis Drive. Send backup he threw a bus."

   Redacted takes a swig of his cappuccino and soghs again. He steps on down the street in his Nike shoes, jeans, and Mettalica t-shirt. The amulet dead center on his chest and he is pulling on his gauntlets as he goes. Once he reaches the block he yells "This is PRIMUS Agent Redacted. We only have two options easy way or hard way. So I need you to figure out which way you want this to go. Surrender and await pickup and this will be easy for you. Spill my coffee and this will be hard."

But he does drop the van on its roof.  The kids in back are not buckled in properly,  so they get tossed around and are now hurt.

Walter is out his dragon form returning home from work when he notices the skirmish happening on his path. He goes quickly to a nearby alley, a perfect place for shapeshifting quickly without being seen. From there he runs to the scene, intending to taunt the subject that was holding the van, as he seemed to be the troublesome one.

As he gets closer, he notices that the van was dropped and felt worried about the passengers. So he starts running towards them, tough he ignores the thug.

The spray of water striking Amok splashes everywhere; Flicker dodges around the drops like a child trying to dodge the rain. When the sparking marbles strike and the arcs dance around Amok and the wet ground, Flicker dodges about the arcs as easily as he dodged the drops of water. Then, in a passable imitation of Dustin Hoffman, Flicker shouts "Hey! I'm walkin' here!"

A 2"(4m) hole is destroyed under the strong man's feet, and he finally gets a chance to test whether running on air is possible, like for Bugs Bunny. Sadly, it isn't (he drops 4m out of view).

Change lobs 4 marbles at him while Majestic Ocean gets him wet.  Charge takes him down.  He is knocked out.

The news crews get the very end of the fight.   Sirens get closer.  What now?  Note:  he has a strong recovery.

  "Goes without saying keep a gun on him. As for the rest of you PRIMUS thanks you for your help. But we need statements from you all. Sharpshooter and I will take them once this moron is taken back into custody. And yes I know all to well what it means to keep your real name out of the news." he pauses and looks at the vans and cars all around them."I need all of you to carefully and quickly get out of your cars and head towards the coffee shop that way. We will be setting up an area to take statements once he is in custody. Please be patient and understand there are a lot of you. If you are in a hurry you might be able to leave name, address. and phone number depends on the officer."

    He doesn't sound like there is a second option here. He then waves his hand at Amok from point blank range. And then touches his arm.

She waves a hand unnecessarily and the water from around Amok reforms around his head.

Sharpshooter calls 9-1-1 for EMTs and to prep hospitals for the injured. He keeps an eye on Amok, even though he seems well taken 'care of'.

Flicker watches the various efforts at keeping the poor fellow subdued, and then asks, "does anyone know if he's new? His actions seemed more mindlessly aggressive than goal oriented. I wouldn't want to think this was a hobo used as a diversionary tactic."

Sharpshooter raises the brim of his hat with one of his automatics. "Cain't rightly say. He's new to me, and I've gone up against most of the supervillains in these here United States at one time or another."

One news helicopter lands and a reporter gets out.  He points the camera at he heroes.    Are you a new super hero team?  Do you have super hero names?  What is your team's name?  Can you tell everyone watching what happened.

Now's the time to shine on camera.

Majestic Ocean glides forward on her board.

"Well, we're not a fully established team, yet.  I'm Majestic Ocean, as I guess you could say I'm a big beautiful body of water.  I'll let everyone else introduce themselves.  As for a team name, technically we don't have one yet, but considering socially we live practically on top of each other and where we apprehended this guy, I guess for now you can call us the ... um... Cul De Sac Crusaders?"

"If that's okay with you guys?"  She asks the rest of the assembled heroes...

Flicker replies to Sharpshooter, "the street was dead till that lug pitched a short into the building. Seemed like he was bent bananas, and didn't savvy where he was. Almost like someone got him soused with something that souped him up, then left the slap-happy goon to catch everyone's attention."

In reply to Majestic Ocean (msg # 47):

Sharpshooter sighs "No......no way. I've been a member of Freedom Force, the Crusaders, the SOBs, the Texas Rangers, and the Arizona Avengers. There is no way I'll be associated with such a juvenile team name....not that I'm looking for a team. But I'll admit a team could be useful in rounding up these Stronghold strays."

In reply to Sharpshooter (msg # 49):

"Oh, sorry, didn't know you had such experience at going through Teams like changing underwear...  How about 'The Neighborhood Watch'?"

"My name is Charge." She said, firmly. "And I will not be a part of any team named the Cul de Sac....whatevers." She was known, been heroing for a couple years, and yet up close she looked as though she could be quite young herself. "The Neighborhood Watch is more acceptable."

Then she walked over to Amok and looked at him a moment. "As for this one, I do not know him either." She said, tossing a small pouch of marbles on him.

[OOC: Charge does have a reputation. Good. If anyone wants to roll it. :)

  Redacted merely shakes his head and does his cop thing. That is until Ocean starts talking for all of them. "Why in heavens name? Majestic Ocean is it? You would speak for others as if you knew us. We got lucky today. Real lucky. If he had even a little bit of a brain stem in there you might be changing your name to Majestic Puddle. This isn't a game. If you want to be a hero then we can work with that, but Sharpshooter and I are the leaders for now. Just for now. And that isn't open for discussion. And that is for a reason as well which we can discuss in private. Now as for a name seeing as we just met I'd say we need to talk first as a group on a name. And I agree with Sharpshooter on the name. For now no we don't have a name." he says as politely as he can.

OOC: His little rant isn't personal. He sees a bunch of kids with powers he doesn't want you hurt if he can help it.

She sighed softly and looked between the two. "This is neither the time, nor the place."

She then looked towards the news lady and decided to tell her the truth. "We are not a hero team at all. We all just happened to be in the area at the same time and heard the commotion, and decided to react." She continued. "The more we continued to deal with the evolving situation, the more we started working together, despite having never met one another before today." She said with an obviously, and polite smile through her mask.

A rider on purple and black Kawasaki Ninja 400 drifts to a stop before parking on the curb next to the news helicopter. The feminine figure wearing a matching helmet with opaque visor, riding suit, boots, and a black backpack, stepped off the bike while shutting it down. Looking over the scene the rider noted the fallen van. Quickly, she moved over to the vehicle and began tending to its occupants.

Amok is a brand new villain.

Nightshade. You are very lucky that you are on a motorcycle. Traffic is way backed up.   Oh and you see Ava aka Majestic Ocean.   You have your helmet on so she needs a per roll to recognize you.

The cameras are still rolling.   Barbie and Waghner take injured people to the hospital.   Thus, not part of the group.

Flicker vanishes from his location and appears leaning back onto the van, two arm lengths from the new arrival. "Hey," he says, "a buddy of mine wanted me to look up a PI who he described as a dame behind a motorcycle helmet. If that's you, ya might want to gander at the galoot they just dropped. I figure if Riley got his machine wrong, it might be doin' more transformation than transportation."
"Otherwise there's probably more going on, and laughing boy over there was a red herring."

In reply to Flicker (msg # 56):

Ooc:  Amok does look and smell like a homeless man (drunk too)  He may have a history of being drunk and disorderly. You don't know.   He doesn't have money or ID.

"Hello. I'm guessing that you're the 'friend that kinda sticks out' right?" her response part question and part assertion. With a negative shake of her head she replies, “I'm trying to fly under the radar at the moment. So no, I think I'll leave this hygiene and fashion challenged person to the care of the local authorities.”
More encouragingly she adds, “But later I'd like to meet with you and the rest of the Watch somewhere more private. Please take these business cards, keep one for yourself, and distribute the rest among the others. Ask them to call me in about 20 minutes to get the location of our meeting and I'll be providing some food and drink. Also, tell Majestic Ocean to bring her own munchies, I can't afford to feed her.” she says handing over the cards.
“By the way hero, what should I call you?” she asked.

Taking the cards from the helmeted lady, Flicker says, "Flicker," before vanishing and appearing next to Ava with the cards beneath his hand atop the handlebars of her scooter. "Cards for everyone," he says, before vanishing again, leaving the cards.
He appears leaning on the van, again, but on the side opposite the one he left. He says, only, "can't you tell?"

With a barely suppressed chuckle she replies, “Oh, okay. Personally, I would have called you Blink given the way you blink in and out. But I've probably played too much D&D.” She paused and turned to face him asking, “So after you left and delivered my business cards did you also have a chance to give Majestic Ocean the message I gave you? Or did you come back too soon?” She hesitated before adding, “With respect, would you like for me to repeat the message or am I going to have to handle it myself?”

"Ohh kay. I think someone called me 'Blinky', once. Ummm, don't worry, I'll deliver your message. Just try to get a look at the perp; it's probably not Riley, my friend would've said something about transformations, but I've got a hunch this guy wasn't a supervillain this morning."
"Later."
Flicker blips away, to make sure the business cards are distributed with the message about calling in a half hour or so for the location. He also manages to stammer through explaining to Ava that the 'helmeted biker chick' suggested she couldn't afford to feed her. His embarrassment at having to approach the topic is very evident.

Charge remained stoic as she looked at the business card. "...alright."

 Redacted just shakes his head at the hero calling himself Flicker. "And they scatter. Argh how am I gonna explain this to Walter this time." he laments. "One of those times I wish it wasn't just forget me. Life would have been so much easier if it wasn't limited like that."

When Ava hands Sharpshooter the card, he starts to ask "this isn't your number, is it? You call yourself Majestic Ocean? That's a right pretty name, kid. I'm Sharpshooter. PRIMUS thanks you for the help today." Turning to the other heroes, he says "any of you who don't want your names appearing in the PRIMUS after-action report, git along. I'll talk to the rest of you and handle your debriefing."

To Flicker, regarding the Feed Her comment:

"Um, yeah.  Funny.  Like I haven't heard THAT before.  Don't mind her, she's a little 'batty' like that, sometimes her rope doesn't reach all the way to her belfry...  plus we have a history going back to high school..."

To Sharpshooter:

"No, it's not MY phone number.  Trust me, you are not my type.  They belong to the girl on the bike..."

The reporter is joined by other reporters.  Amok is hauled away by PRIMUS and the ambulance races off filled with the most critical patients.

The reporter noticed the group seems ready to leave and he wants more.    i heard the names Majestic Ocean,  Flicker, and Sharpshooter.   Who are the rest of you?

I didn't notice Redacted,  Charge. Or Nightshade give their names.

  "I've been Redacted Tom so take that as you will." he says as he starts back up the street to check on his car and the civilians.

"I think it's time I hung around for one of those. Watching from the background will only teach you so much, sooner or later you have to step in and dance for yourself."
"You know, I saw you in action, before. I've been arguing about it with a friend of mine, ever since. If you can't answer, I understand and don't want to violate security. What we want to know is, when you were chasing down that, uhhh, bad guy after the Frenchman Flats debacle, were you working for J. Edgar or was that freelance? My friend wants to set some sort of scale for services rendered, but he's got no context."

While the reporters are distracted, Tarina takes a closer look at Amok and takes a picture from inside her helmet. After Ava mentions the woman on the bike, Tarina climbs back aboard her motorcycle and turns it on. Addressing the reporter she says, "I'm not one of the Watch, I'm just an ordinary average everyday... citizen looking out for my fellow citizens. Now that The Watch has it all under control. I've got to go. See ya!" Throttling up her engine, she waves before speeding off.

While leaving the scene, Tarina starts using the hands-free cellular device inside the helmet to make arrangements for the later meeting with the others.

Nightshade speeds off.  Flicker would recognize her but not the other way around.

Nightshade would recognize Ava but not the other way around.

Charge would recognize MO from the restaurant but not the other way around. Unless a rep roll is done

Everyone should recognize Sharpshooter but no one should recognize Redacted (he makes people forget)

The reporter makes sure the camera is aimed at the group.  (To Ava)   Are you not the woman that Cindy Cartell targeted.   (To Sharpshooter) Did you let Photon get away?  (To anyone) Do you have a base yet and what are you going to do to capture the 28 escaped super villains from stronghold?

"Photon got away from you?!  Sounds like you need to join another team, like the..."  Dramatic Pause and Arms Akimbo "...Cul De Sac Crusaders!"

(Yes, she's messing with him, his old man pride is a sore spot with him...)

 

"No, we don't have a base yet, you did just hear someone say we just met, right?  Though we may take applications from any heroes who are secretly Billionaire Playboys.  What do you think?  Go Fund Me?"

Charge was getting ready to answer the Cindy Cartell question, but that would run the risk of giving away who she was she she would keep her mouth shut for now.

Instead, she went this route. "Stop using that name. We are not even a team, and if we do become one, we will not use that name. Ever." Came her stoic tone.

She crosses her arms, one of her hands moving to her forehead as MO continues to speak. "And on that note, there are more important things to do." She's pulls out a couple CD's, spins them on her fingers until they have built up a charge then tosses them down on the ground next to one another. Stepping on them, they suddenly begin gliding a few inches from the ground.

"Flicker was it?" She asked, as she looked at the card he gave out. "See you around. Tell your friend I'll call her."

Sharpshooter groans and covers his eyes, wishing for a bottle of extra-strength Excedrin and a quart of Jack Daniels. He puts some chewing tobacco in his mouth and chaws a bit, calming down. He spits to the side and says "Kid, if that's the best you can come up with, I hear the Inferior Five is recruiting. Photon got away because I refrained from Lethal Force in a crowded mall. I may be a bit out of practice, but you'll find this old man still has an ace or two tucked into his vest. I'll get another shot at Photon, soon enough."

In reply to Sharpshooter (msg # 74):

The reporter isn't deterred from his questions.
The cameras follow Charge as she flies away.

(to Ava) You just match her description. 

Just then a huge cloud of black smoke is seen rising from the north. It's probably a fire and probably started when Amok attacked.

Note:  Amok left his booze bottle behind.

You hear fire truck sounds going north. The smoke is about 5 miles away.  As you look north, you will see a billboard saying "What would Foxbat do?   Contact CC @ Manateen(dot)com"

 "Well this is a fine day." he jogs for his car. Gets in throws the berry on top. Backs up and stops at the corner. "Whoever is going better get in." he gives them a moment before heading off towards the plume even if he has to go by himself.

With a smile in his voice, Flicker says to the reporter, "duty calls."
Then he vanishes, to appear seated in the back seat of Redacted's car. In as chipper a voice as anyone dare use, he says, "my mentor was right, this is just the diversion I needed to forget the sucking black hole of despair in the center of my life."

"...son of a bitch." As she started to go of she noticed the smoke in the distance and started towards it. Crouching down, those CD's she was standing on suddening carried her off at just over 120 miles per hour.

[OOC: I just did the math. Her NCM is a hair over 120 MPH. :) So good luck on those camera's keeping up. lol]

Sharpshooter jumps atop Redacted's vehicle and launches himself forward, his cycling grapple attachments pulling him forward at an astounding rate.

A distance away from the collected group of superheroes, Tarina receives reports of a cloud of smoke in the area nearby. Seeing the cloud for herself she immediately heads towards the scene, driving as fast as reasonably possible on the shoulders and bike lanes to avoid the slowdown in traffic.
I hope no one is seriously injured, she thought.
