Tarina will stick to the shadows while trying to be an unobtrusive presence unless trouble rears it ugly head while also looking for any signs of illegal, unethical, and/or immoral activity going on in and around the shelter.

When Bonnie comes in, Tarina will watch her movements, waiting until she's either in trouble or alone to quietly approach her.

Reflex races in pulling a cart of food.  Look at all the food I stole Bonnie.  No one is going hungry today.

Just as she's about to approach Bonnie, she sees Reflex enter. She lets him speak before quietly stepping out of concealment behind Bonnie. In a calm voice, only loud enough to be heard by the two children, she says, "Hello, you two. Bonnie, that's a nice name, did your daddy give it to you? Reflex, I'm not your enemy, but I'd like to help if you'd let me. Nightshade's ears fold slightly forward, and she squats to look into the little girl's eyes while remaining vigilant. "Bonnie, the last time we met, I was mean to you while I was looking to help someone. I was mad, sad, and hungry, and I treated you badly while you were doing the right thing. It wasn't your fault and I apologize."

Daddy says you served your purpose.  His new jail opens in 2 days and, because you got mad, his stuff will be approved and he can help people.

Reflex says.  Social distance it lady, or I make you back up.

Closing her eyes briefly, she opens them again to look at Reflex, "Why would you need to make me back up, Reflex? The only reason I am this close is so I can talk to you two without sharing our conversation with everyone else. You know you're sounding a bit demanding. Please try asking for what you want, a little courtesy costs nothing and can encourage cooperation rather than instant resistance." she replies politely.

Turning her visible attention back to Bonnie she remains squatting and looking into Bonnie's eyes, "Did your daddy explain how his new jail will help people? Did he say what kinda stuff he needed to get approved?"

She looks at Reflex, slightly shocked and angry for a moment before regaining her composure. "So why don't you trust me? Oh, is it because I'm older than you, a woman, or because I'm trying to be one of the good guys?" Nightshade asked.

Turning her attention back to Bonnie, "So your father's stuff is going to make them not mean anymore. I guess that's a good thing. So if he were being mean to someone like me, would his stuff make him not mean anymore, Bonnie?"

"Actually, I do want to help people. That's one reason why I'm a P.I. Getting information so I can help people is part of my job. If you believe it or not, most real heroes want to help people, super or not. Nightshade said to Reflex.

"Bonnie, I'm not trying to confuse you, I just want to be sure I understand what you're telling me. You said that your daddy told you about breaking a few eggs to make an omelet, but I'm not an egg. What if your daddy had to break you or one of your friends? How would you feel about that?" she asked the girl.

She is even more surprised that Vibron and Bonnie know each other.

"Vibron there's no need to get either the girl or anyone else here involved. Why don't we step outside to settle this. Besides, the other kid here isn't any threat to your bounty hunting. Isn't that right, Reflex?"

OOC: With one hand on the cell phone in her pocket, she activates an emergency app which texts Majestic Ocean, Flicker and Sharpshooter '911' for help and provides her location. Her arms quickly become wings.

"Yep, I am crazy. Cya later slick!" says Nightshade as she quickly exits, going through the nearest doorway, window, or lacking either of those, the nearest wall to make her way outside into the air.

Given her STR, Acrobatics, and Flight, Nightshade should easily and quickly be able to fly up and out. (Even if she has to go through the wall.)

Vibron missed and Nightshade starts to fly away.  Flicker (who is fast) arrives on the scene.  People are scattering.  Nightshade and Vibron are outside now.

Upon seeing Flicker arrive, Nightshade calls down to him, "Flicker, I think Vibron has Majestic Ocean! We can't just abandon her! Any sign of Sharpshooter yet?"

While flying in evasive patters above the rooftops, Nightshade waits to give time for Sharpshooter to arrive. She also makes sure to keep an eye on Vibron.

Flicker begins to make his way to Vibron, relying on his fancy footwork to keep him safe.

OOC: emphasizing his running gives him a 20" half move, allowing him to approach Vibron and work in a martial dodge before he addresses the villain

Flicker was arriving on scene. So also 20 hexes away.  But Vibron goes first.

Aiming at Flicker

Before he can make it to Vibron, that worthy chooses to blast our hero. Flicker takes the blast full on, and flies back a dozen meters bouncing only once. He pushes himself up on to his elbows, shakes his head, and says, "whoa."

OOC: Flicker gets hit, takes 27 STUN (bringing him down to 8), is CON stunned, flies through 6" of knockback (I assumed there were no walls in the way) and hits the pavement (knockback damage won't exceed defenses).
His action this phase becomes recovering from being stunned. He remains prone (1/2 DCV) till his next phase.

A worried Nightshade cries out, "Flicker! Flicker, be careful! He has some kind of serum to make people docile and submissive!" Dropping closer to Flicker she adds, "He said he's already used it on Majestic!" Still well above the ground, she remains on the defensive against Vibron.

Phase 2.  Being an alien, sometimes Vibron communicates things badly, but doesn't correct Nightshade.  He attacks Nightshade this time.

As Vibron aims his shot at Nightshade, the world stops for Flicker. Literally.
Nightshade hangs in mid-air, Vibron's arm is pointed at her, the visible meniscus of Vibron's bolt doesn't quite reach her. Flicker stands up, and growls. The sound is lost as the air, itself does not move when time doesn't pass.
Flicker drops into a three-point stance, and as Nightshade flaps her wings to attempt to avoid Vibron's blast blistering the air towards her, Flicker begins to run. He accelerates through the first fifty or so feet, to just over 86 mph. Straight at Vibron he rockets, flinging out his arm as if to clothesline the villain. Flicker runs by, and about seventy-five feet past Vibron.

OCV 6, -2 maneuver modifier = 4 OCV
DCV 6, -2 maneuver modifier = 4 DCV (velocity based DCV = 7)
attack roll of eight means Flicker would hit DCV of seven or less and do 30 STUN 9 BODY (half of which bounces off Flicker's defenses)

Used to attacks directed at her while flying, Nightshade continued trying to avoid Vibron's next attack. Nonetheless, the bolt of vibration energy caught her in the midsection, knocking her further skyward. “Ooh!” exploded from her lips, her face briefly contorted in pain. Dazed by the blast, she tumbled three times before beginning to fall.


OOC
Nightshade gets hit, taking 24 STUN (leaving her with 36), is barely CON Stunned and blown further upward.
(Half total inches of KB add to her previously 7 hexes of height at GM's option.)
