Doll exchanged a glance with Nightshade, suspsecting that Tarina also probably had her share of experiences like this before.  Alison could read between the lines as to what 'fascination' meant.  The question was to what degree -- that they were women superheroes? that they were metahuman? that they had unusual physical characteristics?

These were the same concerns that she had with her own social life.  Doll was suspicious of anyone expressing an interest in her and whether it was because that they actually found her attractive or if they wanted to mark off something on their checklist or just wanted to have a story to share at parties.

Had he also asked for Majestic Ocean to be here?, she wondered.  If not, she was going to avoid mentioning this to Ava to spare her feelings that she was rejected for her appearance.

"What do you think?" she asked.  "Turn on the charm and see if we can get him to talk?"

"Or he might be the kind that likes them tough," she added, "... and I don't do 'intimidating' very well," she said with self-awareness.

While this may have been a drawback for other heroes, this normally worked to Doll's advantage because criminals usually underestimated her lack of size as being less of a threat.

In reply to Doll (msg # 2):

Nightshade listened to Doll thoughtfully. "I'm not sure what Mr. Shaw was talking about. 98% of the time I've dealt with VIPER, they just wanted to either get me out of the way of their plan, recruit me, or simply eliminate me. I've no love for VIPER or their agents. But I've known some of their agents to change sides once given a chance." she replied calmly.

"But we don't know what is going on here, and while I'm happy to work with the authorities if they are being honest with us, I wonder if they're holding something back." she added. "Guess my chosen profession and experience is showing."

"By the way, it was good working with you on finding Bowswer. Sometimes its the simple things that make the biggest impact on children. There's a story I could tell you about a boy, his turtle, and a growth ray, but I'll save it for later." she concluded with a grin.

In reply to Nightshade (msg # 3):

I asked him about Ocean and he just said.  'She's just another fat chick.  They are a dime a dozen.  But that tiny one and the vampire one..  They are fascinating'. That's an exact quote.  So are you up for it?

Nightshade grinnned and nodded, "I'd like to find out what the agent finds so facinating about me? I guess it could be enlightening. Is there anything we wouldn't be allowed to do to said agent and would we be recorded?" she paused and then sighed exasperatedly, "Now that was a stupid question, of course we'd be recorded, wheather we know it or not. Right Agent Shaw?"

She looked at Doll and added warningly, "Just be aware that anything you say can and will be held against YOU as well as against him. At least until we get a letter of immunity indicating otherwise."

In reply to Nightshade (msg # 5):

he is a prisoner, so you can't attack him.  Yes you will be recorded and someone will be behind the mirror to watch you.  He hasn't asked for a lawyer yet, so this may be our only chance to get information. Are you 2 ready?

Nightshade looks over to Agent Shaw and worriedly asks, "By the way, have you thoroughly searched him? Checked him out medically? Made sure that he's not carrying something that could harm us? I'd like to see his x-rays, medical tests, and blood work, please." she concluded while crossing her arms.

"By the way, if he attacks me, I promise not to seriously hurt him, but he might be down a pint or two. Jus' sayin' for the record." she grinned to Shaw.

"Doll, how do you feel about this? Are you ready?" Nightshade asked Doll.

"I think that we can manage one restrained Viper agent," Doll responded confidently.

"If the guy wants to talk, we let him talk.  If it gets weird, we threaten to leave.  And if he tries something stupid, we defend ourselves.  Simple as that."

She turned to look at Agent Shaw.
"Is there anything in particular that you want us to try to find out?" she asked.  "No promises.  We'll try to steer the conversation in that direction if possible."

After the final instructions were provided, she declared "Okay.  Let's do this!"

The agent leads the women to the questioning area.  A table is in the middle of the room with 2 chairs on one side and 1 on the other.  A long mirror lines the wall.  A viper agent wearing an orange jumpsuit is lead in and handcuffed to the table with a limited reach.  He looks like a kid in a candy store.  oh my God!  Oh my God!  Oh my God!  They showed up!

Nightshade walks into the room wearing her purple and black formfitting motorcycle racing suit. Finding the nearest shadowed corner with her back to the mirrored wall and the single visible door in the room, she leans back into the corner and looks at the man in the orange jumpsuit.

When she entered, Tarina immediately began looking for the visible and listening for non-visible forms of observation in the room. She was also trying to use her other senses to detect anything unusual in the room. Or on the prisoner.

Nightshade rolled 9 using 3d6 with rolls of 2,6,1.  Perception roll.

She made her base perception roll by +3,
her Hearing perception by +6 (includes Active Sonar and Discriminatory Hearing)

Nightshade does not hear or see anything unusual in the room.You do hear an officer in the "sound proof" room saying.  . Ten bucks says the guy will ask them to show their private parts.

There are 2 cameras mounted.  One in opposite corners of the room.  And the viper agents heart is beating fast.  He's excited.

Doll followed the agent and Nightshade into the interrogation room, taking an assessment of the prisoner which confirmed what they had told them about how fascinated he was with them by his outward expressions.

As Nightshade withdrew into the shadows, no doubt adding to her mysterious allure, Doll took the opposite approach by getting closer.  Although she would have stood directly on the table itself since his hands were restrained, she didn't want to risk that he might still attempt to leave his seat and lunge forward at her.

Instead, she took a seat on top of the back of one of the chairs opposite, intentionally giving him some eye candy as she extended her legs while finding a comfortable position.

"Of course we did," the tiny blonde acknowledged his earlier comments about them showing up.  "You must be a Very Important Person to get this kind of special treatment.  We don't just talk to anybody."

She turned her head to the agent that had brought them into the room.
"How about that you give us a little privacy?" Doll suggested, hoping that they picked up on what they were trying to establish with their prisoner.

"Is that okay with you?" she said, turning back to the prisoner. "You're not afraid of us, are you?" Doll asked playfully.

"So I think you know who we are.  What should we call you?"

In reply to Doll (msg # 12):

The agent leaves them alone. I'm Butch.  Yeah, I need to change my name.  This is sooooo cool.  You are so tiny.  How do you - um - do the intimate thing.

Doll knew what she was getting into when Primus informed them that the Viper agent had an 'interest' in talking to her and Nightshade but his question still unsettled her, probably because it was something that she was still working through now that she was essentially out in public and not hidden away in a secret school for metahumans.  This really wasn't a new problem.  Even as a young teenager when she was normal-sized, she had her share of encounters with creeps (and even classmates) who took an interest in her appearance and physical development.

"Let's just say that it takes someone who is very secure about himself," she teased, leaving the rest of the details to his imagination.  These situations made her glad that she get any powers to read people's thoughts.

This was a chess game and Doll believed that he was trying to achieve a connection rather than trying to achieve some type of power over her by intentionally asking a question that he knew would offend her.

"You seem pretty confident too.  I bet that goes over pretty well with all of the women in Viper... maybe that's why they picked you to go on the raid at the prison, right?"
 

Nightshade's face smoothly emerged from the shadows, with an appraising gaze at 'Butch' before a fangsome smile crossed her face and she added wryly, "Is that your name, description, or preference, Butch? Also, what are your pronouns?"

Butch rolls his eyes at Nightshade.  I didn't pick it.  I'm A he.

Then he answers Doll . Technically I didn't officially join viper.  I'm A thug for hire.  And I want protection when I leave.  They are going to kill me.  I was the get away driver.  So I don't know a lot.  So, Nightshade, if I let you drink my blood, would you do that?

Nightshade, you can tell by his heartbeat he is aroused.Well, if anyone looks "down there" could tell.

Nightshade grins, briefly flicking her tongue across her teeth. "So if you let me drink your blood, would I do that? What do you mean by 'that', Butch?" she asked curiously.

For a moment her face slips back into the shadows, the reemerges with a thoughtful expression, "Well. Tell me why would you want ME to drink YOUR blood?"

"Butch, I may be blonde and have a tiny little brain, but even I don't believe that story," Doll interrupted.  "I don't think they would have brought us down here to talk to a common 'thug for hire'."

"But if that's really the case... where did you pick everyone up?  And where were you supposed to take them afterwards?"

Nightshade steps out from the shadow just behind 'Butch' saying, "You didn't answer my question, Butch. I'll ask one more time:
Why would YOU want ME to drink YOUR blood? Why should I do you that favor. I have many other places to get blood from. "
She pauses then thirstily licks her lips, adding, ⁣"But you do look tasty, Butch!"

"I'm disappointed in you, Butch.  You haven't told us anything remotely kiss-worthy yet," Doll responded followed by a pouting look.

"Where is that training facility located?  Who hired you? How were they paying you?  Do they have any other people working for them who don't belong to Viper?" she asked in rapid succession, not allowing time for an answer but tossing out ideas to try to get him talking.

He is frustrated.  are you serious? The facility is on Baker street. I'm starting to think...

Before he can say another word a man in a fancy suit walk in.

"Awwwww!" Doll groaned, mostly to maintain the illusion that she was trying to establish with the suspect. "Just when the party was getting interesting."

"Lawyers always ruin the fun," the tiny woman muttered as she crossed her arms to show frustration, even though she suspected something like this was eventually going to happen.  It was a staple of the police procedural television programs where the lawyer showed up just as the detectives were about to break the case.

Doll noted the fancy suit the attorney was wearing.  He's got to be on the Viper payroll.  A hired thug couldn't afford representation like this, she thought.

"Maybe he'll be willing to bite you if you ask him nicely," she teased to get a subtle shot in before she left.  "Goodbye, Butch!"

The shrunken superheroine turned and pushed off from the chair to drop the floor.  After making sure that the suspect was watching her leave, Doll paused for a moment near the doorway to blow a kiss in his direction and immediately stepped out instead of waiting to see his reaction.

Nightshade groaned in chorus with Doll as the lawyer entered the room. Stepping out of the shadows she slowly followed behind Doll,
pausing to stop and whisper to Butch. "I guess all the fun is over now. I guess you'll never know the ecstasy of my lips and fangs."
she looked towards the lawyer and stood up slowly, adding, "Lawyers always ruin the fun of these little talks. But maybe I'll find you later, Butch!
Maybe, somewhere outside your dreams. Bye for now!" She grinned a playfully toothsome grin as she followed Doll out of the room. Pausing just long enough to scowl at the man in the fancy suit.
