Howdy!  So this is where we can talk about anything outside of the game.

If you have a vacation coming up and won't be able to post for a few days, please let us know.

I fully understand that real life comes first, so there is no pressure so long as you keep us informed.

Hello, everyone!  Friendly neighborhood cleric here!

I'm having trouble with the technology of dndbeyond, but being the technological equivalent of an Amish Grandmother has always been a problem.

But I'll try to get more done this weekend.

An observation: basically nothing has happened in the game since a week ago when Tanique learned that there were some adventuring opportunities for us to consider.

My personal experience: I feel like I am contributing my fair share to the story, but I am gradually starting to lose a sense of momentum and interest.

Another observation: I suspect that I'm not the only one losing momentum and interest.

My previous experience: I have played pbp before, but only once, and I dropped out pretty fast because it seemed like nothing was happening.

So I ask myself: Is this going to get going, or is pbp just not for me?

You are providing some lovely flavor to the story, Pentak, I thank you for that.  I'm very sorry you're feeling frustration.  PbP is inherently slower than live-play because of different work schedules, opportunities to post, and how even a single conversation can take several days.

As far as where the plot is going, I thought the players were going to take some time to get to know each other over dinner and then start making their plans for pursuing their quest.

I think the party decided on Warda and the Dismal Mire, so I'm waiting on someone to take the steps to find Warda and get more information about the thing she lost.  Additionally, you gained information about the Mire from your history check, but you did not pass that information on to your new companions.

If the party wants me to 'yada-yada' the night away and skip to 'The Next Morning,' I can do that, but I need to know that's what you want.  I'd hate to skip ahead on my own whim and someone get annoyed that they didn't get to finish introducing themselves or complete their conversation with the barmaid.

Perhaps we need to have a discussion about how we want the story to move along?  We could do that much quicker in the FB chat.

At your service,

-Jay

I'll admit that I'm not one for rushing things along, especially if I'm not sure if others want to take their time. I was enjoying myself, but we can certainly "call it a night" and proceed to the next day's Adventure if everyone wished

I think it was fine.  Pentak got a little extra info out of the barmaid and Torg had a little fun.  No point in playing out every single conversation, joke, drink, and tavern brawl.

Tanique gets her hot bath, Pentak heads to bed, and Torg ... probably goes to bed too?  Happy to fast forward to the next morning.

Great!  I'll make a morning post this evening and y'all can describe how you begin to tackle the day.

Pentak, will you be sharing the information that you 'remembered' about the Dismal Mire or the details you got from the barmaid?  I'm okay if we just want to assume that narration and dialogue is freely shared so we don't have to waste time repeating information, unless you want to keep certain things to yourself?

Does anyone else have an opinion on that matter?

Pentak has left the building.

If either of you know anyone else who might be interested in joining our merry band, please let me know or tell them to send me a Request to Join.

No more than two extra players, please.  I don't want a party larger than four.
