District General: Office District

The northwestern portion of town houses the ritzier, more noble side of Tideswallow. Behind a thick barricade of enchanted stone walls, meant to act as both a barrier in times of siege, as well as a less-than-subtle means of keeping out the riffraff, the wealthiest and most influential of the city’s residents live and work. While the common populace rarely ventures within the walls, much of the aristocracy can be seen coming and going on a daily basis.

-Town Hall
-Law-Master’s Court
-Various offices
-High-end Housing
-City Council’s Private Residences
-Very High-end establishments for food and entertainment
-City Archives and Library

It is a rare privilege for a commoner to gain access to this district for any reason other than an appointment with someone who is already working within. However, for the lucky few who can get ahold of one, many businesses and individuals within the district have personal seals and writs of passage they may provide to those they deem necessary. Such things can fetch a fine price with folks looking to make their way inside for... less-than-legal reasons...

District General: Office District

After a quick stroll through connecting districts of the city Mystrala shows up at the entrance to the office district, flashes the guards a sheet of paper they recognize very quickly, and continues on her way into the district.

Not looking for anything in particular she seems content to just wander about a bit, taking in the sights that are clearly at least a bit unfamiliar to her.

District General: Office District

In reply to Mystrala (msg # 2):

While your experience with the Entertainment District has been nothing if not pleasant, one step into the Office District causes you to suddenly realize just how dingy and poorly maintained much of the rest of the city really is. The streets are pristine, swept and possibly even polished, if your eyes aren’t deceiving you, until the cobblestone shine like darkly-shaded mirrors beneath your feet. Every building is a work of art, from the first set of inns you pass immediately on your right and left, to government buildings standing tall on their hill above everything else in the city.

Beside them (the City Hall and Council Hall, as you are vaguely aware) you can see the meandering slope of Sulthor van Ellsworth’s villa. A long, winding path wraps up through numerous fields of grapevines and willow trees all the way up to a large four-story home at its precipice. The entire property is enclosed by a high stone wall topped by a wrought-iron fence with spiky pickets covering the tops of it.

Beyond that, a large bordello stands amidst a series of smaller buildings, looking somewhat out of place at first until you suddenly realize its architecture actually matches most of the surroundings better than those smaller buildings do. Apparently the newer parts of the district have simply been added in between existing buildings as time has gone on. You start to notice this trend more and more as you move toward the southern end of the district; with numerous buildings of varying styles added in amidst the grand gothic architecture of the original parts of town.
OOC: Whoops, some dialogue from another thread snuck into this one... ignore that.
