District General: Office District
In reply to Mystrala (msg # 2):
While your experience with the Entertainment District has been nothing if not pleasant, one step into the Office District causes you to suddenly realize just how dingy and poorly maintained much of the rest of the city really is. The streets are pristine, swept and possibly even polished, if your eyes aren’t deceiving you, until the cobblestone shine like darkly-shaded mirrors beneath your feet. Every building is a work of art, from the first set of inns you pass immediately on your right and left, to government buildings standing tall on their hill above everything else in the city.
Beside them (the City Hall and Council Hall, as you are vaguely aware) you can see the meandering slope of Sulthor van Ellsworth’s villa. A long, winding path wraps up through numerous fields of grapevines and willow trees all the way up to a large four-story home at its precipice. The entire property is enclosed by a high stone wall topped by a wrought-iron fence with spiky pickets covering the tops of it.
Beyond that, a large bordello stands amidst a series of smaller buildings, looking somewhat out of place at first until you suddenly realize its architecture actually matches most of the surroundings better than those smaller buildings do. Apparently the newer parts of the district have simply been added in between existing buildings as time has gone on. You start to notice this trend more and more as you move toward the southern end of the district; with numerous buildings of varying styles added in amidst the grand gothic architecture of the original parts of town.
OOC: Whoops, some dialogue from another thread snuck into this one... ignore that.
