I doubt any of us will be going out for it.....doesn't seem overly wise in Melbourne at the mo.

It doesn't seem overly wise down here in Hobart either, just watching the fireworks from appropriate distance from society is enough for me this time around.

Kinda wish they'd just switch to light shows and forego the big booms; there'd be a lot less dead possums and scared pets.

At the risk of sounding cynical, there are probably enough drones about down here  to organize a firework-free lightshow with them, but alas, the local authorities seem more interested in using them to spot 'criminal activity' rather than putting on a show.

Speaking as someone who has had to learn to sound like the biggest territorial possum in the neighborhood to keep the local possum population away from the veggie patch out back, I could use a few less possums around my place, but I'm against killing or trapping them as a deterrent.

The cats remain unimpressed by what noise level humans consider to be entertainment and had sensibly retired for the evening to the most sound-proof catbed they could find in disgust.

Other than that, so far, it's been a good-ish year, and I'm hoping that's a pattern indicator for the rest of the year to come.

So Happy New Year to you all, and all the hope I can spare. :)

In game matters, time to borrow a shovel, find a bit of roadside and bury the poor fool who thought he could change a Cardinal's mind just by shouting at them.

We've just got ringtails around our place and an overabundance of crabapples so the veges are in no danger. :)

I will attempt another post in the next day, or so.

An alternative menu is always useful, but the plums on the trees up the back away from the veg patch aren't quite ripe enough to distract the ones down here away from it yet.

Still, given the good growing weather over spring, there will be ripe plums soon enough, and more than enough of them to keep the local brushtails happy. :)

Yeah, much the same here - my wife and daughter have both had COVID in the last few weeks, so that's been pretty rough on top of work. I've managed to avoid and they're both well, so all's good! I'll try to get caught up as soon as I can!


Contracted Covid myself in Oct. ‘tis no fun, was banged up for 3 weeks and took me a while to recover.

In the morning the archery competition will tale place first, as will the first 2 rounds of the single combat.
For non-combatants, never fear. There will be many opportunities for interaction.

I am sorry to hear that happened to you, but glad to hear you are feeling better and I wish a swift recovery from it to your family as well.

PSA: While checking out the costs for chunk of cheese and loaf of bread (Average Quality) in CDraconis, I noticed that mead and cider both have a typo in the copy I'm working from, in that the cost for a jug and a tankard of mead and cider have the same prices listed.

If that's just me using an outdated version of the PDF and it's been edited since in the version you're using, just let me know and I'll make a note to update my own copy. :)

Arielle may have wanted to enlist too, but they may not realise we've picked up the thread again in last week or two? I'm not sure.

Had wondered myself if Arielle's player has been having their own health issues IRL, Balavan. :(

Given that Sir Benton and Oswald's players had been out of action for a while with medical issues, it did cross my mind that the reason Arielle's player hasn't posted recently is that they might not be well at the moment either.

It's also possible that like Dursturm's player that they be be really busy with the holidays being over and dealing with going back to work or school. This is but conjecture on my part, as I don't know.

However, whatever their reasons may be for being currently out of the loop, I'm totally OK with waiting for all the players to get caught up with what's going on in game, as I'd hate to leave damn near half the party behind in haste.

PS for GM: Have done the accounting for bread and cheese at Average Quality Inn, but if prices are higher due to higher demand then please let me know.
