I'm new to flashing blades, but I did my best with the character sheet.

GM. Start with whatever you want. As far as the beginning adventure is concerned.  Perhaps starting out being near Paris is best. It gives everyone a feel for the time period. That. Plus it will give everyone some experience.  Just my opinion.

Re: The Black Cross - OOC Space
We will definitely start in Paris.

How about we run through Le Droit to gain some experience?  We can do that in 1625, finish up the year and start Ambassador's Tales in 1625?

Game Master:
Okay, Ambassador's Tales is for experienced characters, so I'm proposing one of two methods to get you guys a bit of experience.  The easy way: you get 9 checks to distribute, and +2 hit points.

The other way is to use the Wintering Events system and play out three years.  The longish part of that is the campaign.

Either way we will start more or less in 1625 when we finish the process of advancing the characters, the starting year I'm using for Ambassador's Tales.

What do you think?

Just wondering which of the two methods we have decided to get the added experience. Perhaps we may choose between the two? For Luc and I, the Wintering events might be nice as it would give us some battles and such to add to our history and maybe a chance for some glory as well. Yet, the former will give the player more control of how his character ends up with abilities, skills, etc. Either way is fine by me.

Unless you plan on gaining experience running the Le Droit adventure. Thanks!

In reply to Issac De Portau (msg # 37):

It looks like Le Droit is the way to go.  If that is okay with you we have a majority and I will put the intro up shortly.  A couple of characters are not quite ready.  Here is the "Hook" for Le Droit:

All characters who work, or are studying, within the low levels of the Bureaucracy will hear, by the grapevine, that the Constable General, Chevalier De La Tour DE Vezelay, is seeking assistance in a mysterious matter having to do with the death of one of his most trusted agents. Any Nobleman may also hear about this at Court.  If they express an interest, they will receive, within a day, letters requesting an interview with them at the Royal Palace. If they accept, they may also bring their friends (i.e. those of low Social Rank and/or not in the Bureaucracy).

Yes, thank you everyone.  Luc and Isaac have time for a response, Alexandre has time to make his appearance.  I will then update.

When you guys leave the room the secretary will show you to the cellars where Le Droit's body is.  If you are ready to proceed let me know, here or through some interaction in the IC thread.

We can't wait for the doctor that will take too long. Issac will take a closer look at the chiper to notice if any patterns could be recognized. Perhaps going by the sequencing. I will post this in character. Would this call for an Espionage check? Thanks

Re: The Black Cross - OOC Space
might as well, no need to waste time waiting on professional assistance. i don't have suitable thief-spy skills, i could keep an eye out and cover your backs as you search.

Re: The Black Cross - OOC Space
Yes it would require espionage.  Ideally you need a message that is encoded, then you can use the partial code to work out the rest of the message.

I haven't heard from the others and will assume the group will move together to the address where Le Droit was found.  Post any objections here soon, I'll update later tonight.

Time to play the 'official business' card, I think. Would anyone else like to try?
