Character Creation (RTJ)



Notice: Before reading through this thread and creating an RTJ (Request To Join), you will need to read over the Rules (link to a message in this game), Races (link to a message in this game) and the Setting (link to a message in this game). I would also recommend that you take a look at the current cast, to avoid making a character that is too similar to an existing one. Of course, this does not apply to the first few players to join the game, since there will be no cast to familiarize yourselves with.



I tend to be pretty open minded, when it comes to character creation. That said, this game is meant to focus mostly on the struggle between elves and humans; however, if someone wishes to play as one of the other sentient races, I may allow it on a case by case basis. I would not be opposed to someone playing as a Keshar, Orc, Dwarf, Dragonborn, Shifter, etc. It goes without saying that Cambion and Djinn will be strictly off limits, to avoid making the average power level of the group lopsided.

Just keep in mind that your character will be traveling through the territories, and playing as one of the more human-looking races will benefit you quite a bit- especially when traveling through Gallica. Playing as a Dragonborn or Keshar, beings who could not pass for human even in disguise, will make your journey more difficult, and will draw a lot more attention to the group.

Personally, when I'm playing I do prefer to play a character that has a bit of diversity and a lot of challenges thrown their way, so I won't mind anyone else who has that same mindset.

If you do choose to play as anything other than an elf, use the Miscellaneous RTJ, please. And, of course, anyone wishing to play as an elf will use the Elf RTJ.

Character Creation (RTJ)



Note: Humans, Elves and Keshar are all capable of utilizing magic, while the other races are not. Humans are weak to all types of magic, but are also able to cast all types excluding Blood and Cosmic- although, their magic is much less potent than that of the elves. Elves are only able to cast whatever type their offshoot aligns with, and they have an innate resistance to their magical affinity, as well. Keshar are exclusively able to learn ice magic over time, but they are not nearly as capable as the humans or elves in that regard.

Dwarves have an innate resistance to most types of magic, excluding Cosmic, but they are not immune to it. Keshar are resistant to ice magic, Dragonborn are resistant to fire magic and Orcs and Dwarves share a resistance to earth magic.

While shifters are unable to use traditional magic, their ability to shift between forms is a type of earth magic in its own right. Shifters do not have any resistance to magic.

Characters who utilize magic can mix and match their magical education and weapons training, if they wish. There will be a limit, however. Non-magical characters will have no magic, but can have up to three different weapon masteries of their choice. Magical characters may have two affinities at the start (Sun, Moon, Earth, Sky, Sea & Ice) and one weapon mastery, or one affinity and two weapon masteries.
