So, the basic setting/lore is from the older GW editions?
I'm familiar with them, but only played a tiny little bit, so I'd like some footing before I get too invested in a character you'll quickly kill off.

That game intro text was a placeholder, and I decided it was too verbose to start the game with, so I revised it. But yes, the basic theme / premise is based on the older editions of Gamma World. However, the party is starting off on an isolated island, which I'm working on the writeup for currently.

Should I hold off on character creation for the time being then?

No need. I just posted The Lone Isle notice/thread. Check it out, let me know if you have any questions... and then hit up the dice roller and roll your stats. I'm still working on the "Character Creation" thread but it's just stuff from the book, really.

Ah, screw it. Time to try something a bit different (for me).
Ah, I see, you're using the 1st Edition. I recommend going to DrivethruRPG.com and getting the (no art) free version of the revised edition. You'll have a much better character that way. :) Direct link is in the Game Mechanics & Setting thread. This message was last edited by the GM at 23:34, Sun 20 Sept 2020.

No, I'm using the correct edition. I did, however, confuse the order (physical/mental) that I rolled and what I was rolling for. This is correct in that it reflects what's in the dice roller log.
