There was a sturdy stone building on the left hand side of the keep. It was two storeys tall with heavy wooden shudders on the windows. As you entered there were some older teens hanging out on the bottom floor.

"You're on the second floor, fresh meat," someone called out when they saw you.

Fresh meat?  Giulia was almost tempted to make an issue of it-- she wasn't having a good time here-- but it wasn't worth it.  She went upstairs.

"I think we're up on the second floor," said Bern.  "A fancy building, to have so many floors!  At least, compared to what I'm used to."

You found the room without any problems. There were four beds spread out in each corner of the room, along with a large dresser. One was currently occupied by a boy with short brown hair. Sound asleep.

"Let's see what kind of room we have," Karine said.

It was a bit spartan, with a large dresser and four beds in one room.

"Reminds me of my childhood home," said Bern.  "All of us in one room..."

Well, at least that meant that he hadn't insulted her.  As yet.  She went to tuck her things away under one of the beds.

It was rather easy to do.

"Ah, hello there," a voice said from the direction of the sleeping boy said.

"Not too bad," Karine said. "Certainly can't complain."

Someone entered behind them-- a slender figure, wrapped in a robe, with a bandage of some kind covering their cheek entirely.

"Ah," they said, in a voice that sounded as if they were trying hard to pitch it low and harsh.  "The team, then."

"Hello," said Giulia, looking to see who had spoken.

It was the brown haired boy who was awake now.

"I'm guessin' your one of my teammates," he said. "I'm Gregory Samson."

"Hello, you must be the last member of this motley crew," Karine said.  "I'm Karine and this is Bern."

"I'm Cil," said the new figure.  "Me being here makes us motley already, I'd say."

"I'm Giulia degli Adragna," said Giulia.  "Pleased to meet you."

"Same. It's been and interesting trip here. I ain't been in a city this big before," Gregory said.

"What makes you say that?" Karine asked.

"Well, don't ask too many questions about my past," said Cil.  "You might find answers..."

They scratched idly at the bandage on one cheek.  Some places branded criminals there...

"Ah," said Giulia.  "From a farm town, then?"
