Back at Voriof's Sheep Pen

[OK three of you are back together so we'll bring it back here. I don't think it matters that Mike sees what the three of you decide to do]

[Mike - to state the bleeding obvious please keep schtum until if/when you re-join the others :-)]

Red, Ulf, Harmast, Iskalla and Angara are back at Voriof's Sheep Pen.

Angara is fretting over Mica’s disappearance but does not have any idea what to do.

Red is concerned but you suspect mainly that he’s worried Mica may have got captured by the Greydogs and the ransom will be high.

It’s now late afternoon Fireday, Disorder Week Storm Season 1617

Any particular bright ideas?

So ulf, when did you last see Mica? And what have you seen?  We can’t leave Mica behind, so has anyone got any bright ideas how to find her?   Is there anything about the goose dance that might give us clues?  No amount of sheep will count if we don’t find her

Iskalla made sure the sheep were securely penned, and stifled a yawn. It'd been a night without sleep, and it wouldn't be a successful raid if they couldn't find Mica.

"Yes, who last saw Mica, and where?"

Mica could be a little... odd, but she didn't like the idea of one of their own being captured.

Well Ulf,  you were closest - did you see anything of use to track her?  Did you here anything?  How did you get out of the wood?

In reply to Harmast Gordangarson (msg # 8):

Ulf has now woken up, noticed that someone's asked him a question and responds...

'Unfortunately, I lost sight of her pretty quickly and was left with the hare. He's a powerful spirit and wanted to show me round his woods. I stayed with him and he showed me a lot of interesting things but then we ended up in a clearing with two children who'd also been asked to stay by the  hare. When I tried to leave, I ended up back in the clearing, so it's clear he was trapping us.

In the end, he agreed to show us out in the morning, in return for me bringing him someone more interesting to talk to - he was bored of the children at that point. Of course, I've not gone back so I am worried what he might do if I do return now. He's not malicious and clearly just wants company but, as Mica is the most sensitive to spirits amongst us, she might well have been trapped. I'd suggest going back and talking to him to ask him if he knows where Mica is - you just need to call for the 'hare spirit of the woods' and he'll appear. I'm happy to come along but not sure how I'll be treated as I ran off so might be best if those who haven't double-crossed him go. On the other hand, I don't know if any of you are able to speak to spirits?'

What do you all think?

Well that matches the experience of us - so wants some company?  But traps people there for company?  Interesting -  and there are children to rescue too!

Well thanks Ulf that seems to have suggested to me a way to get Mica back,  but does anyone else have an idea what to do.  Ph Ulf seems to have fallen asleep again :-)

Well can any of us speak to spirits? Can Fyri act as a translator?  I don’t want to go back to the village without Mica. Are the children still around ? Where are they from? Can they tell us anything?

They were Hillhaven clan and I dropped them off in the Greydog Village. We won't want to go back there but they're fine and unfortunately they wouldn't know anything more about the hare. It found them at the edge of the woods and they thought it would be fun to explore with it and then they got trapped until I showed up and we escaped this morning.

Ok - unless anyone else has a better idea maybe we need to head to where Ulf came out of the wood?  We could always do the goose dance to try to attract Mica?

Iskalla wasn't sure if she wanted to meet the spirit, but she'd do it to help Mica.

Depends on the spirit etc. ulf is actually not bad at communicating with them as he is a bit of a spiritist. Fyri has no clue.

For what it is worth Ulf emerged from the woods miles away from where you went in. He came out at the South end - you all went in at the North end.

Really?  did he feel like he walked for miles ...hold on, just a thought.  Can I get a couple of the faster stick pickers to head back to the village to check that Mica has not gone home - without raising too much attention in case anyone else gets alerted to us losing someone.  And to come and tell us if she is there.

We will head towards the south of the wood, but maybe stop half way down and consider our options.

In reply to Harmast Gordangarson (msg # 19):

Yes, I definitely felt that I walked miles - particularly as I tried to walk out of the woods on my own at one point and just ended back in the clearing. That and running from the Greydogs is why I was so tired. I imagine the spirit will appear at either end of the woods but if Mica has escaped then she's more likely to go to where we entered on the north. It's also safer as we won't need to go back over Greydog land so I'd suggest going there.

and I'd reiterate:

It's late afternoon Fireday, Disorder Week Storm Season 1617

After gabbing for a bit twilight is upon us (Storm Season can vary in its length of day, today is not one of the longer ones).

Frankly heading off now into the dark to wander into possibly unfriendly spirit woods whilst a bunch of angry Greydog clansmen are looking for you does not seem wisest, the question of how you spot Mica in the dark also arises.

Ulf is likely heading for a long kip as well.

Sleep on it? or head off?
