I've been studying the map and have a few ideas, but nothing set in stone.

Assumptions:
- Each square on the map is 6ft or 2 yards (confirmed with GM)
- The shops are all closed, including the Trading Post, so we can't purchase traps or explosives (confirmed).
- There is enough space to have maximum two people shooting through each window (not confirmed).
- The bandits know their friend are in the lockup and could approach from any direction, or more than one direction.
- I'm expecting 10-12 bandits, so we're outnumbered 2-1.
Information Provided:
1. The lockup is the square building north of the sheriff's office.
2. We need to take up positions where we "can watch the main street and the lockup".
3. Stay in pairs for safety.
4. We can hide in the Sheriff's office
- The Sheriff will watch the lockup from the back door of his office (will this be open?)
- The Office has two windows overlooking the main street.
- A third window overlooks the lockup.
5. We can hide in the lockup.
- The prisoners are currently in the lockup.
- The door is locked with a heavy padlock, but there is a narrow covered slot through which meals are passed to the prisoners.
- The window is barred.
6. We can hide in the stables.
- The stables have a loft, but I can't see any doors or windows on the map.
Suggestions:
The Sheriff's Office seems to have the best views of the lockup and the main street, and we'll need to cover both front and back (so they can't sneak up behind us and shoot through the windows).
We could put someone in the lockup (at least two), but if the door is locked, the barred window is the only place to shoot from (unless they break down the door). Visual range from the lockup is somewhat restricted by the toilets outside, and I don't think we can break those down (can we?). The prisoners will need to be bound and gagged. If we move them somewhere else (stable loft perhaps?) we'd need to post a guard, so keeping them tied up in the lockup with two of us there, seems like the best option.
This will be a night fight, with limited visibility and potential penalties to accuracy. If we could light up the "kill zone" somehow, but keep the sheriff's office and lockup in relative darkness, it would give us a massive advantage. It might also alert them to our presence, and we don't want them throwing torches or burning logs through the windows. Maybe if the High Pass Hotel and La Loma Alta Saloon could keep their lights on overnight, it would help the situation.
I've placed icons for each of us on the map (see link above), but if anyone has a preference, we can easily change positions. Is suggest at least one PC in each area to control the action. Putting someone in the stable is also an option, but I can't see where the doors and windows are located.
That's all I have for now, any and all suggestions welcome.
