Regarding combat, I include the initiative order in the post but you can obviously post in any order.

Preston, can't recall what other editions you have played previously, but one thing to keep in mind is that if you are adjacent to an enemy, Thaylan will be able to apply Sneak Attack damage to that target if he hits. (Note that it doesn't give him advantage (or a bonus on his attack as in previous editions) but it ups his potential damage significantly.

I should note that I'm not using the optional rules on flanking from the DMG. Rogues get Sneak Attack damage when  they attack with advantage or an ally is adjacent to the target. But having an ally adjacent doesn't give the rogue advantage, just the damage bonus. Regardless, it's generally very good to be adjacent to an enemy that your rogue buddy is attacking.

See my OOC in the game thread. Attacks on 3/4 weasels have advantage. Thaylan, you can roll sneak attack damage.

Also for everyone's use for this combat, the weasels have AC 13, so you can roll/post accordingly if you hit or miss.

In reply to The GM (msg # 44):

Updated my post. Rolled the advantage in hopes of a crit but no luck. Sneak attack damage added a fair bit though.

Sorry for ghosting the last few days, I was called out of town for a family emergency and didn't have my laptop posted like I thought. I will get caught up today.

Still afk. We've had a death in the family and don't know how long we'll be gone. Sorry for the sloppy post. I suck at posting from my phone. Please npc me.

Hey all, I will be updating the game tomorrow, with the presumption that you are heading upstairs per Thaylan's last post. Thanks for your patience!

Thank you for the kind words.

My wife's father passed suddenly while we were visiting him for the holidays. Since her mother and brother have already passed, my wife is now the executrix of her father's will. We had to break the news to everyone, take care of the service, see the lawyer, etc. It's been a busy time. We are finally back at home for a couple of days, so I am finally able to update you all on a computer with a keyboard. I'd like to be able to give you a firm date for my return, but I'm headed back to his house in a couple of days to take care of things there (no computer there - just a phone), and I have no clue how soon I'll be back at home again. If that's too long an absence, I'll understand, but I really want to rejoin the game as soon as things settle down. On the plus side, everyone here's doing okay.

I think given the circumstances, the GM won't mind NPCing your character until your return.

...that is defiantly extenuating cirmstances

Preston, absolutely not an issue. Please take care of your family business first and come back to the game whenever you are ready. Please be well and take care of yourself and your family.

All right it looks like Thaylan is not logging into the game anymore. I'm going to continue things and perhaps look at bringing in another character.
