On the hunt

Unsure of what the group was planning to do, she offered two options, "we could knock on the door and talk to the merchant, but if we're just going to bash heads, I'll join Joy in the back. Either way, someone should go with Joy."

"As much as I love bashing heads, yeah, that probably shouldn't be what we do first," Joy admitted. "I suggest we knock and see what's what first. Me and someone else will keep an eye on the back while that is happening, just in case anyone tries to sneak out. And if you need backup, just yell and we will barge in through the back to surprise 'em!" Joy cracked her knuckles in anticipation.

Ok so you have all found your way to the Home of the spice merchant. The land perimeter is surrounded by a 10 foot tall stone wall. The main entrance the gate is indeeed ornate some say even gawdy.

The wall is 20 foot away from the building. There are two building. The main house and a horse barn about half the size of the house.

There does not appear to be any gaurd at tue gate. Or any person anywhere on the premises. You have walked all the way to the front or back door with out any hassle.

Do you knock or bust the door down?

"That sounds good," agreed Joy. "Something feels off about this place though. It's so... empty. I think I am going to peek in a few windows while I watch the back."

Without further explanation, Joy began the transformation into a small bird of her homeland. A small unassuming bird that would peck the parasites off of larger animals. An oxpecker. Its tail feathers were the same as the dried grass of Joy's hair.

The druid took to the sky and went to spy in a few windows to see if she could pick up on any clues.

Turning into a small bird.

2 Hold.

Discern Realities - why is the place so quiet?

All any one can see poking in windows is nothing. Every window has the curtains and drapes drawn shut, cant even see a glimer or flicker of light.

As Coraxa knocks on the door a scuffled foot steps are heard followed by a muffled go away"

When they approached the door Bailor stood just to the side of Coraxa.  He waited to see if they would actually open the door or not even as the muffled voice could be heard, "at least we know someone is home."

With nothing worth seeing in the windows, Joy had nothing worth reporting from her investigation. And so she simply took position in a nearby tree and watched the back of the building like she said she would.

"we are not getting a ywhere fast. " Coraxa says to Bailor. "im just going to bust the door down. "

20:24, Today: Coraxa rolled 9 using 2d6+2.  Bend bars lift gates.

Bend Bars, Lift Gates
When you use pure strength to destroy an inanimate obstacle, roll+Str.

✴ On a 10+, choose 3.

✴ On a 7-9 choose 2.

*It doesn’t take a very long time
*Nothing of value is damaged
*It doesn’t make an inordinate amount of noise
*You can fix the thing again without a lot of effort

9 choose 2. I choose. Less noise and it can easliy be fixed.

Quietly as she can,Coraxa wedges her blade inbetween the door aand frame. And i dont know lifts the door off hindges?  Like that sceen in P.o.t.Caribean. just the right amount of leverage.

Kaj, stationed at the back door, looks for clues as to who's been coming or going from the building.

Check for footprints or other signs, especially indications of goblins.

While Coraxa does not make a lot of noise the noise she does make would alert someone. However, there is no one in sight. Whoever had just been there is gone.

Even thru the rain, Kaj can still make out a few goblin tracks. they are old and lead inside.

Casting Detect Magic.

I choose to forget the spell - just in case there's someone in the area who hasn't noticed us already. ;)
