RTJ

Please consider the following points before you send a request to join:

  • If you want to join this game, first of all be aware that it will contain mature material (though no adult content!). The reason for this is mainly so that I don't feel restricted in describing combat actions in a bit more visceral detail. Nothing gratuitous, mind you, but I'd like to be on the safe side when it comes to this. Be sure you are comfortable with this.

  • Being able to manage a post every two days would be very helpful (with some exceptions here and there of course) for the sake of moving the story forward, so please only apply if you are confident in being able to post regularly. Posts on the weekend are certainly fine, but not expected.

  • I am a big fan of roleplaying and, despite the premise of the game, I expect my players to share this preference and enjoy social interactions. So if you are looking more for a combat-heavy game with more rollplaying and less actual talking, this might not be the game for you.

  • Provide me with some personal details about yourself and state your previous experience with D&D, regardless of edition. Having a decent amount of experience with high level 5th edition is helpful, but not necessarily required.

  • Make sure to have read the Game Info, Game Overview, and Character Creation threads to see what the basic plot of the campaign is about and how to create your PC.

  • Please request access with your preferred character concept. This should include a name, race, class, and background, as well as some idea of the personal history, personality and motivations for your proposed character. This will be the primary basis on which I select characters. The more info you can give me about your character (mostly through a written background story), the better your chances are of getting in. As there is currently no time limit until you have to finish your submission, you can take your time to come up with a quality RTJ!

  • There is no requirement to have any setting knowledge beforehand. If you are not familiar with any of the official worlds of D&D, then just keep your PC's story more generic and come up with your own ideas for past events and names of NPCs met or locations visited.

  • A good grasp of the English language and quality posts are a must! Please use correct punctuation, including -"- before and after spoken words. Also, refrain from posting too many one-liners in general or boring descriptions for your character's actions in combat situations.

  • Other than that, please treat your fellow players with respect. We don’t need any drama in the OOC thread, so if you have a problem with me or another player, let me know via a PM. And most of all, have fun!

Submission window will remain open indefinitely for now, with new players being able to jump in at any time. When I feel a certain limit of participants has been reached, I will announce the end of me accepting new players for the time being.

I started to go through the available RTJs now and already invited a few players. Will continue to do so over the next couple of days until I have responded to everyone.

Just as a general update, please put at least some effort in your submission! I have seen several RTJs now with minimalistic approach. My prerequisites for inviting players to this game are a lot less than that for others, but two or just one sentence about your character will not cut it!

I'd rather have a smaller group of dedicated players who have shown me that they are in fact interested in playing and reward my time investment with doing the same on their end with their submission, than having twenty people who cannot be asked to spend more than 2 minutes on their RTJ.

The game is pretty much full for now and there are only a few possible spots available for extraordinary, impressive submissions!
