Down Night-Haunted Halls
The rain and storms did not abate. Their cloaks were sodden as they travelled west into the foothills. The path through the forest offered them some protection versus wind and rain. There was little sign of wildlife with no interruptions upon their march until they reached the mouth of the canyon and the old curtain wall.
They passed through the gatehouse safely and into the clearing beyond. The black bear Coal was nowhere to be seen. However laid out beside one of the ruins abandoned were three blocks of wood, a rusted knife, and a half finished carving of a peacock.
