5e.: D&D 5th Edition Basic Rules
AC: Armor Class (see Defensive Class)
ATT: Attack
B: Bludgeoning
CHA: Charisma
CON: Constitution
CP: Copper piece
DEX: Dexterity
DC: Defensive Class (see Armor Class)
DM: Dungeon Master (used interchangeably with GM)
DMG: Damage
(f): denotes a weapon with Finesse
GP: Gold piece
GM: Game Master (used interchangeably with DM)
HD: Hit Dice
HP: Hit Points
IC: In Character (opposite of OoC)
INT: Intelligence
Init.: Initiative
Lvl (or LV, or LVL): Level
Move.: Movement (maximum movement in feet/turn)
NPC: Non-player Character
OoC: Out-of-Character
(M): Material spell component
pbp: Play-b-post
P: Piercing Damage
Pass.: Passive (e.g., Passive Perception, Passive Investigation)
PC: Player character
PM: Private Message
Prof.: Proficiency
(r): The range of a missile weapon, expressed as (x'/y').
RAI: Rules as Intended
RAW: Rules as Written
S: Slashing Damage
(S): Somatic spell component
SP: Silver piece

Common Acronyms

OOC or OC within brackets generally indicate "out of character" meaning dialogue within players or the dungeon master but not part of the story.
